Aw, I think it's cute. And on the contrary, I'd argue that it's actually a very respectful and unique tribute to MJ. Qee dolls start off as completely blank slates, so Alizée obviously put a great deal of time, effort and attention to detail into it--the hair, sunglasses, and sparkly glove and socks are all brilliant touches.

And... I'm not really sure how else she'd do it? It's about as accurate as a Qee doll could get.

While the last thing I need on my plate right now is yet another project, I do have a week off coming up at the end of August...and I have always wanted to do one of these. I used to paint D&D minis back in middle school, and wasn't too shabby at it...

Well, after staring at a group of blanks for a while, I couldn't imagine how I could make one into Alizée (even if I had artistic abilities). So, actually that makes me appreciate even more the cleverness of the MJ creation. One could put big sunglasses on Alizée, but... Ok, it would have to be a real caracature of her. Maybe the big square one. I don't know.
I would of course be tempted to do the black outfit though. Other than the JPVA dress, I don't know what else would be iconic enough to be recognisable.

Yeah, the way I'm approaching it is that it's more of a caricature...interpretation and artistic license and all that. After looking at all the blanks, I'm thinking of either going with the Bunee or the BearBear, and turning her into a Disney-esque cartoon character, which I think she'd appreciate.

Really? I think there's a lot of other options, actually: the dress from the Moi...Lolita video, the "fur coat" she wore for some live performances of ML, the red track suit from the JEAM video, the pajama-esque outfit from the L'Alizée video, the yellow vinyl outfit from En Concert, the corset from Mademoiselle Juliette, the 'Miam Miam' outfit...etc, etc. Not all of them are going to work equally well on a Qee, mind you...but yeah.

Gah, getting more and more excited about this the more I think about it...
