I started a thread a few years ago that was similar to this one. I got on YouTube and watched Alizee's performance at The Done singing L'Alize. By accident the sound on my computer was off. I ended up watching the whole thing without sound and it was a very difference experience. I then watched her Gourmandises live performance.

I felt that the visual experience was heightened by attempting to compensate for the missing audio. I picked up more details about her in general, her movements and surroundings.

I too voted watching!

It's very tough, but this specific limitation made me choose "watching".
I'm still not totally sure of my vote here, but I wouldn't give up following her life on Instagram or wherever she shares her photos and thoughts.

I would still choose 99% "Watch" because I love watching her and her music performances so much and most!!

In the end, I had to chose... "listen"...

Why!???

It's been, oohhh, 20 years or so, that I have "followed", this "little" lady, "off" and "on", and by now, I pretty much know what she "looks like"...

The thought of just being able to "watch", and not "listen", well that would be "robbing" me, of one of my "greatest" pleasures...

A glass of decent wine, or a good Belgian beer, with Alizée, singing to me, quietly, in the candlelight...

Just... the "two" of us...

And, if I need to "see" her, I just close my eyes, and, think of her...


Does that not just sound pretty perfect, to y'all???

You make a strong argument. You know how Alizee talks the lyrics quietly in the middle of Grand Central? I would hate to not be able to hear that again.

But, I never get tired looking at her face. Her smile immediately lifts my mood.

I don't like this choice at all.
