The tower looks pretty cool, but I still don't get why you didn't rebuild TWIN towers... :/

Because here's what we'll be getting in Paris following President Sarkozy's plan of making "Le Grand Paris project" more influential than London . The Shard will be beaten 2018 Twin towers 320 meters each

La Défense has had quite a few skyscrapers proposed but however most are on hold or delayed as of now. I personally love the Shard, though I think Moscow is looking like it will have Europe's best skyline

As for rebuilding the Twin Towers, it would be of good sentimental value for all of New York but bad for business. It wouldn't be easy to sell floorspace in a replica of the Twin Towers. But as of now New York is in a Skyscraper renaissance that is only rivaled by Dubai. Allow me to show you what we currently have be built and what will soon be built.

This building, One57, recently had a crane collapse during Hurricane Sandy, however when its complete it will be the fifth tallest in all of NYC. It is 306m tall.

One of my favorite buildings that was just finished last year, The Beekman Tower. Currently the 9th tallest in all of New York. It is 267m tall

Bank Of America Tower, currently the 3rd tallest in NYC at 366m

New York Times Building 5th tallest in NYC at 319m

Construction just started on what will be New York's tallest building by roof height, 432 Park Avenue. Yes this is actually how it will look. It will be 426m tall when it is complete in 2015.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/432_Park_Avenue

Two World Trade Center (Under Construction) It will be 411m tall.

3 World Trade Center (Under Construction) It will be 378m tall.

4 World Trade Center (Almost Finished) It is 298m tall.

Soon to be Built, Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project (Tallest building in this picture will be 408m tall)

15 Penn Plaza (Soon to be built) 371m

GiraSole (Soon to be built) 323m

Tower Verre (Soon to be built) 320m

Edit:

And a big thank you to my brother, here is how our skyline looks as of a few days ago. It is easy to see why NYC has the worlds best skyline!

^You can see One57 being built in this picture on the upper left

I dont consider Tour First a new building since it is a building from the 70s that was just remolded; though they did a fantastic job with it. Phare Tower I really want to see built, but it has been proposed for a few years now but yet no progress has been made. La défense is coming a long nicely but you guys need a supertall (building over 304 meters tall) desperately. London has one with 3 more under construction, Moscow has one with another under construction. New York has 6 with 3 more under construction, in my opinion Paris has a lot of catching up to do.

The twin Tours Hermitage and Tour Phare will both be around 300 meters high..

But quite frankly the real problem with paris, is that there's a mid 20th century law that forbid the construction of any structure taller than the Eiffel Tower (311 meters) , and there's also a law that must consider the visual impact of the tower on the city's overall homogeneity because they "don't want it to spoil the landscape"... they want Paris to stay a 19th century city with business centers like La Défense or neuilly faar away from the center...

Just look at how far the eiffel tower is from la défense..

Yea I hate laws like that but all cities have them. New York has some sort of ordinance where you cant have a building blocking the Empire State Building which is why you can see from this picture that there aren't many tall buildings directly next to it as seen from the pictures below.

Lol, never noticed before . but they're right in a sense, if heights keep increasing the empire state building will end up being obsolete. While the problem is that the law makes Paris la Défense asymmetrical... as you can see , this is how LD with look like in 2018 with pretty much all the tall building on a side because the jurisdiction is different on the other side of the road... lol
