How do you get that little apostrophe over the e in Alizee?

For Windows:

Select keyboard input language English (United States)
Keyboard layout/IME Dutch (dunno other will work as well...)
Everything works the same, but:
' then e gives é
` then e gives è
' then c gives ç
^ then e gives ê
and so on.
áàóòöçúùüûáàíìï , piss off cake

Disadvantage: If you want just ' or " you have to hit the spacebar once.
But you don't have to remember all of these alt codes.
You get used of it very quickly.

I kept a little slip of paper taped to the side of my monitor as a cheat-sheet with most of the necessary codes for French until I got used to them :-)

That's what I do, though I select US-International.

on the mac you just hold down option and hit e and it adds the ´ mark.

then you follow that up with the e itself.

so do ..

option+e then e = é
