The Association Football Thread
Football, soccer, whatever, lets talk about it. Who are your teams, talk about games and events, have at some friendly smack talk.
MLS is in full swing, and no team is making a name for themselves yet. Most of the European leagues and cups are done, but Euro 2008 starts in just a few weeks, and the US has a nasty string of friendlies in the next 3 weeks. As for Euro, I'm thinking Les Bleus will win it, but any one of about half the teams in the field could take it this year. Oh, yeah... YNWA

SK Slavia Prague & Birmingham City do it for me!
Slavia have just lifted the Czech Title, and Birmingham were relegated! Euro 2008 - Czech Republic or Spain FTW! |

Being 6 last time Slavia won the league, I just don't know how to celebrate the win lol!
Sadly Smicer was injured for very much most of the season. 4 appearances and 1 goal. I'm sure had he not been injured we'd have finished the title race with 4 or 5 games spare!! I don't see how Garry O'Connor has ever played an international for you. He is AWFUL. As a football writer does this mean you get inside scoops on transfers and other news =P xx |

As for any gossip , I hear a few things on my travels so if I hear anything juicy about Birmingham I'll let you know if I can. Quote:
Anyway you're looking in not too bad a shape for the Euros. |

A.C. Milan would be my favorite club, but as I usually only get to watch English football in the states I've grown to like Manchester United as well. Granted if the two faced head to head, as they did last year in the Champions League, it's A.C. Milan for sure. As far as Euro 2008, the Italians will follow up on their World Cup victory with a beautiful Euro 2008 win .

Huge fan of Gunners!
I'd like to see Croatia do well in Euro 2008. Sadly Matt Taylor crushed Eduardo earlier in the Premiership season, denting Croatia's chances. I wouldn't bet against the Italians. |
