Alizée app (free) for iDevices and Android
Get the free Alizée app for your iDevice or Android device!
View the event schedule, and so much more! Apple App Store - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alizee/id902163513 Google Play Store - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...adie.app_65315 Edit - They do want you to enter some info from your social media accounts the first time you use the app, but you can skip that part, on Android there is an invisible 'skip' button in the upper right corner of the screen. I think it's also on the iDevice version but I never saw it, yet somehow I still was able to bypass that screen. Last edited by Ray4AJ; 08-17-2014 at 06:23 AM.. |

I've checked it out on both systems, the Android one does seem to glitch sometimes when trying to view the fan wall. Like Lucas said, nothing extra in the app. I expect it will be slower to have news than Alizée's official website does.
You don't have to log in or anything to explore it though. On the first page when you first visit it asks for login creds from Twitter and/or FB. In the upper right corner of that screen there is an invisible 'skip' button. The best use I can see would be to show it to friends on your device to promote Alizée, or better yet get them to get the app and they can explore some clips and songs. |

This app is a piece of malware, so I'm disappointed to see our heroine's name on it. This app requires far too many permissions. I wouldn't let it anywhere near my computers.
Fifty five-star ratings with only one hundred downloads stinks of unethical manipulation of the ratings. Alternatively, this could be due to the fact that most downloads have probably come from people who subscribe to Sony's Alizee newsletter and these people may also rate the app for no reason other than Alizee's name. Mandatory registration reveals the app's true intention: invasion of privacy.

I'm sorry to hear that, but you are right. It is SEVERELY over-permissioned.

Some of those permissions it would need, like camera, microphone, pictures/files in case the fan wanted to post a photo onto the fan wall. You can tag your location in your posts if you wanted to, so, 'location.' You can also 'share' your app use with your friends from within the app, so then it would need your contacts.
I don't know about some of the other stuff though. Mandatory registration wasn't required for me, I found the invisible 'skip' button in the upper right corner of that screen. But, yeah, it's all about data collection and learning about the fanbase. I don't think there are sinister intentions behind it though in this case. Still, I have a separate pre-paid phone that I use for these social-media type activities. There is no real-life contact info or personal data on it, so life continues to be peaceful and serene. They don't need fine location to understand the fan base. Coarse location would work fine.
