2001 Alizée or 2003 Alizée? - Page 2

There is a lot to be considered. While the 2003 Alizee is a sweet ride it was the 2001 that paved the way and is still just as reliable as it was back in her day. The new 2007 Alizee promises to set new standards but, as of now, it's only a prototype.

I like them ALL. Its nice to watch the progression of Alizee..from the young, innocent girl in the beginning to the more mature confident woman she is now... ready to take the world by storm!

I think you're right Umesh.

She probably started off as "You have a beautiful baby" when she couldn't even stand (don't we all). Then she had at least the cute face growing up as a kid. Preteen years, people were probably saying she is very talented. Teen years she became pretty. Then the adult years where she blossoms into gorgeous (for lack of a better term)...

What will she be described as now???

Well, ultimately the question is kind of mute because there are aspects I like thoughout that span of time. The younger Alizée has what the older does not (as much), but the older has what the younger does not (as much). So, ok though she looks good and her songs are good from both eras and I am glad to have it all, since I am older and she was more a woman in '03, I'll have to go with that one.

I do like the cute face and the cute hair of the younger Alizée, but then her style works for her in the somewhat older Alizée as well. I think if you look at the JPVA Tour de France video (which is what RMJ got the photos for the Rainbowlizée picture from? (maybe my favorite photo)), you will see my favorite. Very beautiful and fully grown, or nearly. I really like her hair there, too. It's longer and somewhat curled, but not a lot and still somewhat limp (to the degree that it looks more healthy and supple.)
Of course, I can't fault the JEAM look, either. I think the first video I ever saw of Alizée was the JEAM (sexy version) and yes, there's nothing sexier. I really like her hair in that performance for that performance.

I think she gets more stage performance as she gets older...so i imagine her comeback as a blast cause she will be now a full adult, vocals at best and body too.

Just a thought for all Lolita lovers...time is on my side, yes it is...

If I had to pick my favorite "version" of Alizée, basing it on appearance and activities for which we have material available, I'd probably say it was early 2003 - somewhere between the JPVA video and the 1h filming is probably my favorite look and attitude combination. She has, at that point, the confidence and the maturity of an adult, combined with the playful nature and quick smiles of a teen. Honestly though, I think that choice is informed by her awesomeness when younger, and pleasure at knowing what she still is developing in to, in ACC and En Concert.

I don't feel that I can really pick between 2001 Alizée and 2003 Alizée (or later styles), because they are one and the same. She remains herself throughout, and it is to her I am beholden, rather than some particular version of her.
