What was in my front yard this morning?
I am working in the garage, I hear a car squeal its brakes, my 4 dogs go berserk, and I run around the side of the house to see a small (>200 pound) Black Bear in the road!
 The lady who was in the car beeped her horn, which caused the bear to turn and run down to my Daughters house, run behind the house, run back across the cornfield, through a small development, back across the to my side of the road, and out to the creek behind the house! From talking to neighbors, this Bear apparently came down off the hill to the south of us, across the little stream there, and right up through the middle of the corn field across from my house. It stopped in the edge of the corn, where my neighbor lady saw it and came to a screeching halt. She said that when the bear saw my dogs come out of the house, that it moved out of the corn, up onto the road, APPROACHING MY DOGS/HOUSE! She beeped her horn and turned it away...No, I didn't get a picture -.- honestly, I didn't think of the camera until it was gone... Just another fine day in the neighborhood! ED

We've been having some bear issues in the suburbs around the Twin Cities here as well. I haven't seen one in my neighborhood yet, but I have run into them while camping and canoeing. Good luck Ed. Hopefully they won't be breaking into your house, because they can really mess up the place...
