Thing is, we're living in a transition time, and I only just now caught up with it. The traditional publishing path is a thing of the past. The publishing company and literary agent are on the way out, and self-publishing is going to become the norm, now that e-books and print-on-demand and marketing via the Internet let an author self-publish at no cost, literally. But I kept trying to do it the old-fashioned way, find an agent, find a publisher, sign a contract. My own fault. I could have done this months ago.

I wrote a long piece on that subject as my first blog entry (see link below).

No, I don't think anything of the sort. I know you and I have some values disagreements, but it certainly isn't personal. I've never done anything to you except publicly disagree, so why would you have anything against me? Sorry if I gave that impression.

Sorry for the thread-hijack, Deep! I did just get an Android phone, so could use the e-reader on that for your book... But still think I'll wait for a hardcopy. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to certain things, and the thought of laying in bed with a phone holds no appeal.

When you go to the book's page, you should see two columns next to each of the download/read formats. One says "buy." That's the one you want to click on. You'll then be taken to a screen to set up an account (or you can do that first and it will be skipped), and then it will get your payment info.

I think 252 pages is probably the whole book, but you won't be able to go through all 252 pages without buying it.

Correct. However, I'm sure in no format does the book run to 840 pages, so that 252 count is probably the whole thing. Unless there's a bug in the system, though, he should only be able to read through about page 75 for free.
