Who wants a love song video. We don't want another guy added to the "Lucky Bastard" list. I just want Alizee in it.

I didn't expect a love song. Maybe it will be Lili as Julliete trying to be with Romeo, but Shakespeare keeps screwing it up for them. I would like this. Showing there attempt at being together, but Shakespeare just will not stop screwing them over. Sorry Shakespeare, but they did kind of get screwed over. |

Mademoiselle Juliette has more raw potential for a return song, if you ask me.
But I wouldn't mind seeing 50/60 being a single later on down the road.

The video may already be produced. But how's this for an idea. We have straight-up shots of Alizée singing as if on stage, mixed with scenes in period dress from the play -- Juliet on the balcony, some fighting -- Tybalt killing Mercutio, Romeo killing Tybalt, Romeo killing Paris -- the suicide sequence, Juliet taking the drug, Romeo finding Juliet apparently dead and poisoning himself, Juliet stabbing herself with his dagger. Not a whole lot of time in this song, so it would have to be brief vignettes, but anyone familiar with the play would recognize scenes like that.
Wouldn't necessarily be Alizée playing Juliet but it could be. Oh, and through all this the image of Shakespeare's face kind of superimposed like an unprincipled god.

Didn't Alizée once expess an interest in being an actress? If she still has the desire, a music video of a song with a theatrical theme might seem a natural place to start. Just a thought.
Another thought: Not all of a music video needs to be taken up with the song. Think of some of the boldly produced music videos from the 80s like Michael Jackson's Thriller (on my mind because of the aweful Indian verson that was posted, [shudder]) or Mylène Farmer's Libertine. I think it's anyone's guess at this point about what it will be like when it's revealed.

You should listen to the song again you will start liking it. Now I only don't like the last minute of the song. Last edited by aditya8617; 09-14-2007 at 12:37 AM.. |

There are a hundred different ways the Romeo and Juliet story has been retold on film and video, and I'm sure Alizée's will be another chapter to add to that story. West Side Story, for example, is Romeo and Juliet in a new setting. Not all tellings of Shakespeare needs must be contemporary.
Whatever decision they have made, and however they choose to represent the tale, I can't wait to see it! Even just sitting here listing to Mademoiselle Juliet, I get countless images dancing through my head, scenes, potential scenes, facial expressions, and consistently the image of Alizée's devilish and disarming smile every time she says "uh-uh, uh-uh" in the background. I see your taste is about as good as your grammar.
