Amelie, this is absolutely beautiful, well done! This reminds me a lot of a different L'Alizé cover a long time ago, possibly because of the, well, je'n'saisquoi in your voice. Very good job, and if you're to cover something else, I'd say that J'en ai marre! is the best match for you. Three questions:

1) I'm detecting a fair share of mixing in this. I guess you recorded this through whatever label you're connected to? Is there any chance that you're going to own any rights to this? I'm asking this question for your sake; I don't want to see such talent being chained to somebody else's wallet.

2) There's a lot of sibilance in that recording (for those not understanding, sibilance is the high-pitched hiss that you hear along with an S sound). That doesn't put any blame on you, as everybody has some and it's up to the recording equipment to do away with sibilance before equipment on our end picks it up. Have you noted this, and figured out what you're going to do about it, especially if you did this through your record label?

3) This question only really applies if you did record this through the record label, but you should still give it some thought either way. The instrumental version of L'Alizé is copyright, and it's owned by Laurent Boutonnat and Universal Music. Similarly, the lyrics to the song are owned by Mylène and Universal. If this cover is more of a test song, a demo to show what you can really do, then you shouldn't worry, but if you want to do something more with it, make sure that you've got permission. You definitely don't want any trouble with the copyright lawyers.


Please believe me when I say that I'm only saying these things because I want you to be the best you can be, Amelie, and I see endless limits to your talent. Give them some thought, and again, excellent job on L'Alizé!

WoW, just wow. Your voice has got a lot better than Vasara, you weren't lying. This was just a amazing cover. You have a great singing voice Amelie and your only 15. To be 15 and have a voice like yours shows you have a lot of talent. There is not much more I can say except that it was just beautiful.
