the two things i have against america:
1. our refusal to use the metric system. we are the only country that still relies on the standard system. 2. our loath for soccer (futbol). we are the only country that could not care less if we win or lose at the world cup.

most sports writers agree that, with the exception of hockey, it is the points on the board that matters most. the only reason hockey is still alive in america is because of the fist fights that occur during the game. look at how many sports have changed in america that gives the players more chances to score.
american football: in the original games, a touchdown was only worth one point. the player had to be able to run between the uprights, drop to one knee and touch the ball to the ground (hence the name 'touchdown'). there were no such things as kicking for the extra point, two point conversions or safety. basketball: you only scored one point per basket. making it two points per basket, the shot clock and three point lines were added years later. baseball: the design changes of the bat and balls over the years is what changed this game. that and the size of the players. in original baseball, scores like 3-0 were the most common. hey it is early, i am still half asleep and have not had my morning coffee. if you do not like this...tuff noogies!

Sundays having to wake up early cause football starts at 10am, need to grab more beer, food or head to a sportsbar before its full, shower check the spreads/over-unders again, my pool picks, injury list, if teams are pulling out their starters, weather again, more beer and if at home somehow find a way to fit in a bbq, I don't know how i'm able to manage the time to get it all in and not miss any of a game. AND log on here to post about it.
