So I'd like to discuss the ACDLA video that just came out. It's something I really would have enjoyed if it wasn't for the tatoos. Worse part is they show up very early, front row, center stage. You can't miss them and for me, it leaves me shaking my head and with a bitter taste in my mouth. Then the video progresses and I start to get back into it, but then the tats come back.
To me that arm is just an ugly mess now. You can attatch that mess to the most beautiful girl in the world and put it in beautiful surroundings and it's still a mess and in my opinion, it ruins the whole picture. It's something I don't want to see one inch of in her videos. It doesn't surprise me that she doesn't realize it, but I'm terribly surprised and disappointed that Sony didn't realize it or chose to do nothing about it.

I've had a lot of faith in Sony in producing this album. I thought with all their experience, all their tools, all their assets, they'd come up with a really good product and in the case of this video, they were very close, but they let something as obvious as the nose on your face ruin it.

I've said in the past at work on days when we get done early, I'll drag out my laptop near the end of the shift and on so many occassions I'd watch Alizee videos and I usually watch them in a prominent place where all could see, but in the past couple of years, when watching videos such as from Les Enfoires, there might only be a little bit of a tatoo showing, but still I find myself being more secretive of these videos because I don't know how to explaiin how such a beautiful girl, could do this to herself.

This latest video is one I'd love to show off at work, if it wasn't for the tats. I will doctor it and will come up with something I enjoy and will be proud to show.

Maybe it's a case where I'm too old fashioned, too old hat, too far behind the times, to passe, to unwilling to accept change, that I don't realize the newer generations will embrace a video like this. If that is the case, I thought about apologizing for my views, but that would be wrong. What ever the reasons I have for my views, what ever shaped my opinions, I have to state them, just like everyone else here should state theirs. In the end, I might be right, or I could be way wrong. Only time will tell.

I do wish her and Sony success on the path they are choosing to travel down, but if I see them taking a step in what I percieve to be the wrong direction whether with tats or something else, I will say so.

Looks like all who needed to vent have spoken.

Well Les Enfoires is a little over a week away. The image that Alizee presents now, is a lot different than it was a year ago. How will the show present her this year?

Last year they had her dress in a wedding gown and she looked incredibly beautiful. The perfect bride in my opinion. She was just unbelievably beautiful. Now she has ruined that look "in my opinion". Will Les Enfoires see it that way? If they had a similar skit, would they present her in the same way or would they maybe have her in a long sleeve dress, or in that same skit, would they have her in the background with the singers who wore robes?

I would think it would be a no brainer. Those tatoos are borderline hideous and they seem to put a lot of effort into appearences on this show. In the skit where she sang rolling in the deep, they went through the trouble of dressing up everyone in pilots and flight attendant's uniforms and they brought out all those aircraft seats. In the wedding skits, they had them dress up in wedding gowns and tuxedos and judges robes and they sent up those benches and similar efforts went into other skits. So I would think appearence means a lot to them. But I thought appearences would mean a lot to Sony in the video for ACDLA and I thought they would try to hide the tatoos, yet just the opposite happened. They presented them as I usually like to say, front row, center stage. So I really don't know what to expect.

Les Enfoires has presented to me the side of Alizee that has come closest to those incredible days when she was with MF and LB. In several occassions, I've loved the way she looked, I've loved the way she danced and it's been unfortunate that I've loved the way she sang, but on those occassions that I thought really brought out the beauty of her voice,well they were just far too short. I absolutely loved her voice in Rolling in the deep. I loved her voice in Soon the end. Les Enfoires has come so close to equaling the beauty of those early years, but they've never quite been able to combine the beauty of her, her dancing, her voice, into one full song.

Now her beauty is gone and I'm sure the rest can never make up for that.

I don't see any problems with Alizee wearing a dress.
In the staracademy performance she wore a dress and you could see the tattoos on her arm, but they did not lower her beauty, she looked wonderful in the dress.

I'm not really opposed to Alizée's tattoos.. they simply don't really matter to me. I wouldn't think any less of her if she was to fill her whole body with them but I seriously hope she doesn't for her sake ffs!!

In the recent Goldman tribute, in watching American many times, I can almost swear that the program is being very careful with their angles and close-ups to minimize her tattoos being too evident for much of the time. They didn't eliminate our seeing them, but they do seem to minimize it somewhat. For example, doing close-ups when the mic is in her left hand (which is not often) or her arm is down and she is turned towards Chimene.

Maybe I am being too sensitive on this issue, however I really am wondering if her new "art" will impact at all how she is presented in LE - either in the outfitting, in what numbers she is selected to play a prominent role in, where they place her in some of the numbers she is in, or in how much she appears in the DVD? For example, would she have been chosen to play Alice in Wonderland (blue outfit with blonde wig) if she had had the tats back then? Time will tell.

It may be my personal opinion, but I think that Alizée got all those tattoos as a subconscious way of escaping from her lolita image of an innocent and pure teenager to a more adult self . That's her way of saying that she's fed up with lolita and she's not a saint ...

This "tired of the lolita image" is a legend that 90 per cent of Alizée fans believe. I am sure she was tired of the lolita image back in the day, when everybody asked her about that. But not now.

Today, she is not trying to escape from lolita at all. It is all in our heads. When we read the word LOLITA written in the flyers for her DJ sessions, or we listened her performing lolita recently in the academy, nobody said anything about Alizée trying to escape from lolita... obviously.

Couldn't agree more ! She still looks beautiful but not cute anymore on some pictures showing all those tats...

I had nothing , absolutely nothing against her tatoo as long as she kept them discrete... but you can't change people...
