Freakzaz, I think you are probably right. I always wondered why her first 2 albums weren't promoted more in Canada.

Hey Freakzaz, I like MUCH music too! I had it when I had satellite TV. Now, I got crap-cable.

But because of waiting for Alizee's return 1-1/2 yrs ago, I tuned into MUCH, because I also thought that was where she would turn-up. I spent lots of nights wishing that at least a short snippet of info or picture of her would show up. But, NADDA. At least, I was exposed to something else other than our own MTV which I avoid.

BTW, did anybody from Canada witness Alizee on MUCH or any other show?

Also, along the theme of this thread, I think Mal was right with the idea of a Lollapalooza-like event, or the Lolla event itself.

I attended the first concert series when I lived in CA. You're exposed to all kinds of artists. Alizee could fit in nicely there. She wouldn't have to perform in too many concerts if she didn't want...just enough for us westerners to get a taste of this Frenchie...

Absolutley agree for this thread, though for the other I'm not sure she has done as well as she wanted regarding album sales... yet. But there's still time.

The standard of reviewing Alizee's success should be measured by how much potential she has and IMHO she has great potential. Sales numbers are not everything agreed but she can make it big in the U.S. she just has to try. With a contract with a major record company coupled with her talent she can do basically whatever she wishes to do.

I agree with Jess below - a formal request can actually go a long way. I think people would be surprised with how far a formal written request can go in the business world. And if we include good and accurate information that may persuade Alizee or her agents about the prospects in the U.S. this may work.

I respectfully think that for the most part everyone here is wrong, except those that have posted the same reasons I'm posting. She will go were the market is, if she finds enough interested fans in America she will come. Ok, so maybe I'm just wishful thinking...

Anyways I propose that we request for her on myspace to come to our own country, wherever we are. I know some are doing this already, but what I propose is that we join as a unit and then request. Here's a little card I made for my own request, and what I would like to do is find out how many Americans we have here. And who would like to be put on a list like the Christmas list, and then we can post this on her myspace every once in a while...

Or, we can post our own request if we prefer. Either way, my point is that we need to let her know that we are interested. So she thinks we prefer R&B, well why not tell her that we like her music and that we want her to come. She is obviously reading her myspace messages, even though she doesn't respond...

Same in America, nothing on Lili. I wish that MTV would do something since she is the best singer in the whole world. I think that promoting her would be easy if they would contact her for an interview/performance or something for MTV in America.

In Canada, the Much network has Musique Plus, a channel totally dedicated to French music, but I just can't justify the price subscribing to a personalized package by a single channel.

It's very likely that Musique+ did show Alizée's videos when she was more popular. It's also possible that they'll show the new videos when the album is released in Canada. However, while Quebec is mainly French-speaking, artists from France usually get second-place treatment. On the other hand, Moi Lolita by Julien Doré is quite popular, so that might give Alizée an edge in.

I've been listening to Alizée before I started High School, and it didn't take me long to figure out she was going to take a break. I say even if she doesn't have as many fans here in the U.S. as other countries, she will at least have us and others that have found her.

I agree with the people saying Alizee just doesn't want it. And even if she did, I don't think she would make it big. She doesn't sing in English. While that doesn't bother me, mainstream America would go "She sings in French? Nevermind" When you come to America, you're expected to know or learn English. (I agree, they should) Just like if you went to Italy, you'd be expected to know some Italian. While I would love a concert here and would buy a ticket in a heartbeat, I really doubt it will ever happen.
