Alcaline Lyrics
Ske_leton at A-France has been working on figuring out the lyrics to Alcaline.
I believe it's a work in progress, so this isn't expected to be exact. Here is what he came up with so far....(with some changes others made) Quote:

Please send my thanks to Ske_leton, I myself usually guess the lyrics all wrong so I didn't fully trust my listening skills.

I am very fond of these lyrics. And I'm fond of RMJ's photos.
However, the translation seems a bit off. Quote:

The English word "gimmick" is not the same as the French word "gimmick", here the French "gimmick" means a tune or a melody that stays in your head. Could "déclic" have a double meaning? It is referring to the sound of clicking, of course. But it is also an "A-ha!"-moment. Quote:

The beginning of a tune, the tapping which stays. Quote:

A battery that we hug to barely make our escape. Can one "hug" a battery? Cuddle, then? Quote:
Farther still, finally. There, where nothing at all bothers me. Quote:

Is that the reason it's being affectionate. An alcaline battery, some adrenaline, to narrowly get away. Feel free to correct mistakes. Parts of the translation are quite liberal, but I think with the extra commentary I provided it does get the point across better. Keep in mind these are not based on official lyrics. There are some comma problems and what not, but I think this is... improvement, at least. The song reminds me a bit of Psychédélices. I especially like Alizée singing about closing her eyes while wearing her headphones. Going on an inner journey. The world disappears, only music is left. Dreamy... |
