Today on 50mn Inside on TF1 they did a story about Alizée and Moi... Lolita.

This year for the duration of your holiday, they are stories of stars, songs or memorable events in our summers, we have chosen to tell you. This week, the history of the 2000 summer hit, 'Moi ... Lolita', Alizee. A provocative sensual song written by Mylène Farmer, who turned a young 16 year-old singer in international star. 7 years later, Julien Doré is a name which was done by taking it in a very personal version. 'Moi ... Lolita': the sultry song that revealed two small yet very different talents.

Cette année pendant toute la durée de vos vacances, ce sont des histoires de stars, de chansons ou d’événements inoubliables qui ont marqué nos étés, que nous avons choisi de vous raconter. Cette semaine, l’histoire du tube de l’été 2000, "Moi… Lolita", d’Alizée. Une chanson provocatrice écrite par la sensuelle Mylène Farmer, qui a transformé une toute jeune chanteuse de 16 ans en star internationale. 7 ans plus tard, c’est Julien Doré qui se faisait un nom en la reprenant dans une version très personnelle. "Moi… Lolita" : la chanson sulfureuse qui a révélé deux jeunes talents pourtant très différents.

Lol I was asking myself the same. He ruined everything.

It's a lovely interview - it's also really nice that they put her best friend Helene in it - it's just too bad that they say quite a lot of nice things about Alizée - yet the French audience has dropped her like a hot potato ages ago.

Also this makes me realise how much I miss Alizée as a singer. I wonder if we will ever get a new album. Well what ever she's gonna do in the future I will follow her.

Wow! What a great interview. I've never seen Alizee so open about herself in public before. In all the other interviews I've seen Alizee, she talked about her career in a very dispassionate way, but never about herself.

In the contest, the 15 year-old Alizee seemed so confident and professional. I never guessed she suffered any trepidation. She really was a little professional from the very beginning. Truly, I pray that Alizee does not fade away.

What a lovely interview. That was the third version of how she ended up singing in the competition that I've read. The video does a great job in showing the difference of the real Alizée (e.g. in the recording booth) and the one dancing in the ML video (and in the subsequent countless of performances). She said that she loses herself when she dances, so it makes sense.

MF and LB took quite a risk in putting a shy, bullied girl into the limelight. But she made it.
