Please remember the maps show where signed CDs were set, NOT necessarily where people might attend a live performance in greatest numbers! (See, for example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_bias .)

It might also be the case that the locations of people looking at alizee-officiel.com is also biased, but my guess is that it is much less so than the autographed CD survey. That's why I direct your attention to my post What is the estimated traffic to Alizée's official Web site? (episode 2)

Among the cities (N.B. NOT metro areas) of the world over the sampling period, only Mexico CIty requested over a thousand cookies from the Web site. And the leading city in the US, Phoenix, only asked for 53.

Looking at US states, you'll be happy to hear California, with by far the biggest total population, led with 299 cookies. But perhaps Arizona asked for the most cookies, 72, on a per capita basis - I'm too lazy to do the arithmetic.

Among Direct Marketing Areas (in the US), New York and Los Angeles beat the tar out of all the others with, respectively, 164 and 156 cookies. But Phoenix still managed a respectable 66, accounting for nearly all of Arizona.

The bottom line is that nowhere in the US do we see a respectable cluster of potential show attendees. But Mexico City alone accounts for about 40% of the substantial total Mexican contingent. If the Corsican girl can't fill the Grand Rex, perhaps she can still put on a successful show in Mexico City.

But if you are stubborn and want a US show strategy, I offer up a multistage plan that would take at least a year and probably still doesn't have the AAm critical mass to start the ball rolling anyway. Find it at Making progress a step at a time

Crap I wish I knew about this forum back when I could have signed up to get an autographed CD. I can't believe I missed my chance. Just the idea of holding a CD that has been touched by Lilly drives me crazy. Ahhhhhhhh!!
How about rubbing the spot where Andy's car stood in GCT instead?

Call me, a GCT vet, naive, but the GCT theory sounds fine to me, based on the translation of the lyrics at: http://alizee-reflections.net/grand_central.html . Sadly, the translator is NO New Yorker: not only is Broadway not a synonym for 42nd Street, on which GCT sits, but it runs several blocks away. By the way, it is a long walk from GCT to Tiffany's, where Audrey Hepburn's Holly Golightly had her famous breakfast, a half-century ago. (Of late we here have compared A to Audrey.)

Should you care to depart GCT and bump into the guy who played Lolita's stepdad, watch Hitchcock's North by Northwest.

Obviously it's about GCT! Damn it, Doc. I wanted to have Roman guessing for a while. Oh well.

If you get Roman confused, he might flash his tattoo and SCARE you! It's happened before...

Besides, it's not nice to confuse "foreigners" from distant lands!

I don't believe it.

The literal translation seems to work too well (especially "I'm hungry").

I loled at the New Yorker thing.

On a separate note, I will be following your "Alizee Radio" thread closely. It would be awesome to have every song featured there compiled onto a list. It would give new meaning to the songs (for me at least) knowing that SHE listens to them.

1) but it's it still a train station regardless of what they call it? (you said not "Grand Central" by the way)
2) do I have time to search around figuring out sh**, stuff like that?
3) what's up with Goom radio? I wanted to listen to Alizée's playlist, but it wouldn't play for me

Nah...my original post said that it's not a reference to grand central station...as doc pointed out, it's actually a reference to grand central TERMINAL. But you're right, it's technically still a train station. Semantics.

I dunno why but the Goom radio thing failed to load the first time I was on it, but as a refreshed it...it seemed to work properly. Try it now?
