[Flavie] Alors Fabrice, vous savez comment on écrit Lolita ? L.O..L.I..T.A.

[note: Alain Souchon is the author of the song]
[Alizée] Peut-être. On verra bien.
Regardez...

I've made my own translation of it but before posting it I first PM-ed it to garçoncanadien so that he can fix some parts that I'm sure are wrong.

[Flavie] So Fabrice, do you know how to spell Lolita? L.O..L.I..T.A. It's a real hurricane that fell upon France in the Summer of 2000. She became in some months the idol of French pop at 16, sponsored by Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat. Please welcome her, Alizée.
[song...]

[Flavie] Alizée. Lolita. 1,400,000 copies sold. Good evening Alizée.
[Alizée] Good evening...... Thank you.
[Flavie] So Alizée, is there a song in particular, in these last 40 years, that sticks with you or that you'd like to sing yourself, that you used to sing all day long?
[Alizée] Well minutes ago, while I was backstage, I heard "Full Sentimental" and I thought that I'd like to sing it myself.
[Flavie] Maybe one day, you never know, Alizée will sing Souchon! [note: Alain Souchon is the author of the song]
[Alizée] Maybe. We'll see.
[Flavie] It will be a pleasure anyway. Thanks a lot, we'll see you again in a moment....
[Alizée] Thanks to you, see you in a moment.
[Flavie] ....in this show. Anyway, stay with us because you're 17, you already have two Gold Discs, for Lolita and L'Alizé, so obviously you were well established, just like those young ladies, revealed in the 90s and who are now parts of the elite family of the Golden Discs. Watch...

commentary: a Gold Disc is a kind of music award in France, much like how you get Grammys in North America

Disque d'or is just like gold disc certificate in the States (and everywhere in the world). It's purely based on how much the disc (single or album) has sales. Here is required sales for gold disc around the world:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_disc

Other certificates are Silver (disque d'argent), Platinum (disque de platine), Diamond (disque de diamant). And it's also possible to get double or triple of any of those. For example in France, Platinum for album is 300.000 sold discs. Double Platinum is 600.000. Triple Platinum is 900.000. And Diamond is 1.000.000 sold discs. Obviously Double Diamond is then 2 million sold discs.

In different coutries, the numbers of required sales differs because also the population differs (the States has 6 times more people than France so it would be silly to have same requirements).

It's not like Grammy. Grammy is award based on voting of judges or something (whoever decides who it is given to...).
