RIP Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was found dead at her London flat today. Cause of death is still undetermined. She just left rehab for her concert tour. She had been battling drug addiction for years. She was just 27 years old - about the same age as Alizee.

I used to listen to a couple of her songs before I discovered Alizee. She definitely had a more successful career than Alizee. She sold more albums and won five Grammy awards. But, in a hindsight, I think this is what the price she had to pay for all those successes - just like Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan and many others who can't handle the pressure of fame.

I am really very happy Alizee made the right decision. She put her family first ahead of her career. If getting tattoos and piercings were the worst things she did, then I'm all happy for her. I am also glad she took the necessary time off to get away from the limelight to raise a family. I know it sucks for her million of fans who had to wait for years to see and hear from her again. But, I'd rather wait for months or even years than not seeing/listening to her ever again.
