Maybe you should stick more time in reading than posting.
You do not seem to have the intention to understand.

But be my guest and keep on selling cheap carpets for the

Maybe you should keep on lurking instead of making trivial arguments about something as miniscule as a sig on some forum. You're making quite a good use of your time here, congrats.

hey dirtyace, don't take it the wrong way, but JaG has a point there. if you have been to other forums where there are generally mature people, there usually are limits and restrictions on sig usage. usually nobody is allowed to use moving or animated sigs and there are many restrictions like pixel x pixel size limit, number of images, and number of lines that a sig can occupy.

this is rather the one of the few places i know that doesn't implement and enforce such rules. i didn't mind at first, but these days for me it seems like the sig allowance is being abused by some. let me tell you, that it does bug me when i am viewing this forum on my small notebook, some people's sig take up almost half of my screen. but because we don't have a sig rule, people are allowed to carry on.

i know you have no bad intentions, but even as i type my post here, your sig is way too animated and flashing for my tolerance. maybe it's because i am older, but it's very stressing to the eye. i know a lot of people will go out of their way to block any flashing/animated images on their browsers, so i don't think JaG and I are alone here. i know JaG wasn't very diplomatic in getting his point across, but i hope you understand why some people might have issues. anyways, i hope people can exercise some sort of restraint and come to compromises when it comes to using sigs, because while they might be lovely, certain styles of sigs can bring hinderance and make enjoying these forums very hard. sorry to use you as example, dirtyace.

perhaps if brad can give us in our options to turn off displaying sigs or impose some restrictions, it'd be better...

I understand you perfectly heyamigo and I'm certainly willing to compromise if it's really a visual hindrance to many people here. However, so far I've received nothing but compliments (well accept from JaG) about it either from the regular members or the mods, so I've kept it the way it is. Besides, there are no rules being broken, however, I do see the point you're trying to get across. No apology necessary. Like you said, being diplomatic doesn't hurt.

I'll take down all but one gif as I still want something in my sig.

PS - there is an option to turn off avatars and sigs, just in case you want to do that in the future. It is right there in the User Control Panel under Options.

good compromise. that's much easier on the eye.

i think the camera flashes in one of your gif animations was what made it very stressing to the eye. plus, some people get very adverse reactions (like seizures) to looking at something constantly flashing, so you might have saved some lives there...lol.
