It absolutely seems like it does. French, just like any language, should never be taken literally after translating.

Well since in spanish you say
porque = pourquoi

and por means why or by, i thought it would mean the same in french.

Technically it does. But with Français, when you look at it, you see it as you speak it not write it. At least I do.

I'm still a little shaken by what happened over the last few days and I feel a little creepy about the whole thing but myspace comments are kind of like having a conversation on a street corner with bullhorns, so I guess there's no real harm in dissecting them publicly. I mean, it's pretty clear that Alizee and a bunch of her friends/etc. decided to join MySpace in early July. There are several of "A"'s comments scattered around from early July, roughly of the form "hey-cool-this-is-my-first-post" and "isn't-it-cool-how-we-can-post-messages?" (I'm not translating them, just giving the rough spirit).

EDIT: Of course, one can go too far; really the catalyst for the whole thing on Tuesday was when Rozier posted a compendium of all of "A."'s comments and links to where they could be found. So I just don't know. Anyone who thinks I/we should delete the whole discussion can let me know...but I suppose the proverbial cat's kind of out of the bag at this point.

Hers is a private space that can only be accessed by those on her friends' list. She has some posts on several public spaces, including her father and a photographer friend of hers.
