Thumbs up mother bird

Please excuse the fact that I've created a thread to be based entirely on me and I'm an attenrtion-whore, but I've had a few Alizée-related occurances from the past week that I'd like to share and I'm too lazy to find the right threads and cleverly work them into conversation:

Wednesday - I gave my mom her first dose of Alizée. The ride out to where we were going was pretty quiet. I had my cds sitting on my lap, but I was too nervous to put them in. On the ride home, I fried to fill the quiet with conversation, but after I couldn't possibly talk anymore, and having gone hours without any Alizée, I put in Gourmandises. I stuck to all the slower songs, started off with a little "Lui Ou Toi" to gradually introduce my mom to her, but not start off with some full-blown pop princess-song like Moi...Lolita. I giggled beacuse she kept turning it up. I slightly explained the different songs we were listening to as best I could and kinda made some things up in the gaps, but she kept turning them up when I would put them on. I ended every sentence with "and she's really hot" to keep her enjoying the songs without thoughts of her son being a little floozy. After the first song, I let L'Alizee play because I guess the shock was over and I trusted that she could take it. Then a snippet of Parler Tout Bas, and I explained that Alizée sings poppier stuff too. The only erk I had was that I didn't have my MCE cd, and couldn't let her hear Amélie m'a dit. Lastly, A quoi Rêve une jeune fille, when we got home, we both kinda just sat there a while and let the song play until the end. She told me she enjoyed it and it was good music.

Thursday night - At school I was giving a presentation and my professor asked me a question, I couldn't hear her so I caught myself doing that little lean dealie Alizée does in the MTV Italy video and from there I started thinking about her and completely lost my train of thought.

Saturday - Second experiance listening to Alizée in the car with mom, a few minutes into MCE she stopped it I told her a little more about her, she told me from the sound of her she must be sort of short and petite, I told her "yeah, and she's cute as hell too". Then she took a guess from the french-ness that she has dark hair and dark eyes. I've ignored my french heritage for so long it hadn't even occurred to me my mom might know the stuff I was talking about. I even told her Alizée was from Corsica and she seemed to know exactly where it was. I was pretty amazed at my mom(when she said dark eyes I thought "if she only knew..."), she got everything right on without any help from me. My mom is usually asking me about girls' hair color and stuff and but I never answer her. I was chatting away before I realized my mom finally broke me. By the time Amélie m'a dit came on I was comfortable explaining the part where she sings "I'm not pretty" and the crowd hold up signs and stuff because it is by far the most untrue statment ever to be made, my mom told me she would like to see my En Concert DVD sometime.
......After the first run through of MCE(skipping Yupidoo), I was half asleep and my mom came up with the idea to listen to it again out of her own incentive. All I can remember from the second round is that I woke up at the "J'suis pas belle" line again and to my mom's suprise shouted "nope" at the speakers with a big grin on my face. After MCE a second time she got another listening to most of Gourmandises too. Later on my mom started asking questions about if she writes all her own stuff, so I explained the Mylene/Boutonnat situation. Somewheres along the trip she asked if Alizée ever does anything in English, I told her she does, my mom said she must have an accent, I said "yeah, and it's cute as hell", she told me she'd like to hear those performances someday too. From that I had to tell her that all this stuff was a few years old and that as far as everyone knows, she was taking english classes, but she's taking a break.
......In the end, as she dropped me off at my sister's, I left Gourmandises in my car for her in case she wanted to listen to it on the way home, but insdead she asked me to find some other cd(Soundtrack to Avenuq Q - demented puppet Sesame Street parody where that song in that WoW "The Internet is For Porn" song comes from; I've seen it in Vegas, and have to admit I know most of the songs and it's pretty funny at times).

Saturday night - I spent the night at my sister's college, ended up stopping by a party where I come to learn that her boyfriend and his roomate have their own radio show. For your viewing pleasure, here's an over-simplified version of the conversation performed in owl format:

Their show is taking a break for short bit because of a new semester, but I explained to him about this inexplicably hot french singer he needed to air and he agreed they could try her stuff someday. This all took place in a drunken-haze, so I don't know how much of the conversation stuck, but I'll keep on them about it.

Sunday - My cousin recently had a baby so I was at a family barbaque. Naturally when I'm around my family together anywhere I tend to sit back and picture how neat Alizée would fit in.
I guess more than anything else, my heritage is french. I've always known I was more french than anything else, but just kind of ignored it. But lately I've been paying attention, and my family is prety damn french. The last names from my mom's side are totally french, my great aunt and mom were describing the baby's features and explained how they came from the french-ness.

GODDAMN THIS KID NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO PARAPHRASE

Nice story but it's bit sad that you need to keep telling "how hot she is"... Why not simple show the music as it is, when clearly it was all about the music.

Well, I find it sad because he needs to hide his real feelings. Dunno, it just a thought I got from the story. It sounded like he was ashamed of liking her music, so he needed to hide it under those "btw, she's hot" comments. That's I felt it was little sad.
