Hmm, I'd call it lucky square not magic. It only gets some right and I think its because the same symbols are repeated for various numbers so it is more likely to choose correctly than incorretly. But I had fun figuring it out thanks AA-1.

No matter what numbers you pick, you end up getting a multiple of 9. Every time you load the page, it puts the same symbol next to all multiples of 9. Not that special...

Hmm ya that makes more sense. Now I feel stupid for not paying more attention. Aw well never have been that interested in programming, and just took a quick guess. Noticing the symbols changed when the page reloaded might have been helpful. Ah well Hibyprime quoted me so there's no way I can correct my stupid mistake now...
