Oh Mylène...

One of my favorite songs:

The lyrics are brilliant, especially with the context of The Little Prince.

«Quelle solitude de mourir sans certitude d'être au moins une particule de vie, un point minuscule utile à quelqu'un....»
«Et vivre est dur -- toujours un choix -- mais je jure que le monde est à moi...»
«Dessine-moi un mouton, le ciel est vide sans imagination...»

I love that one! Mostly because its so lively and optimistic- refreshing as the majority of Mylène's music is moody and gothic.
Another song of her's that I think is really underrated is this:

^One of the most emotional and genuine performances by any singer I've ever seen

Thanks for sharing! Her live performances are all touching, though I think this one best demonstrates her ability as a performer. The lyrics are profound, and the music haunting as it is at its best. And the introduction (0:05-1:00) is itself a gem.

Ooh yes another one of my favourites I love how that even though the concert's clearly tired her out and the song's extremely emotional, she delivers a perfect performance regardless. It reminds me of her 2009 performance of Si J'avais au Moins:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T7OAQNoVlZU&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T7OAQNoVlZU&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>.
Its amazing how much of a brilliant singer she still is considering she turned 48 this year. I watched the DVD of her 2009 SDF concert recently and it was one of the most exhilarating and touching spectacles I've ever witnessed- I'd recommend it to anyone

Babyblue, you have exquisite taste. The SDF DVD is little short of stunning

I love the fire/water eruptions on the screens behind her, and this is indeed a great performance. In general, though, I'd like to hear more mistakes, and not so much of this digitally corrected voice (!).

Is there also a live version of Point de Suture?

By the way, isn't that Julien from LillyTown at 4:18 on the right?

Oh I know! It's just so great to watch, as soon ad I'd finished I wanted to go back and rewatch my favourites! I think for the first time on DVD you get a sense of Mylène's fun, naughty side (check out the arse-grab at the end of Libertine or the 'flirting' with the musicians during XXL ). And then she goes straight from that to pitch-perfect, beautifully emotional songs like Point de Suture. Ahh she IS a true goddess

Edit:

I heard that the No5 on Tour album was the first of her live albums NOT to be massively digitally remastered (correct me if I'm wrong!). I guess it depends on what 'not as remastered' means, but across the album there are a few noticable mistakes in the notes (towards the end of the first chorus of Je te Rends ton Amour for example.)

Yeah there is, it's part of the Stade de France concert DVD released Earlier this year and as usual it's really quite spectacular. I would post a link but all the DVD clips on Youtube have been taken down by the publishers so far.

Edit:

here's a concert recording if that helps btw

Haha thanks babyblue, though that video has also apparently just been taken down. I'll just have to buy it some day.
