Smile Chateau Marmont March 2010 gig in Washington, DC

This thread is the place folks interested in this gig can meet in advance online. Please post here if you plan or aspire to attend, if you can help with lodging, transport or other logistics, etc.

Be sure to buy and wear Alizée clothing if you attend - if only to hook up with other Corsican fairy fans, LOL! If you have a video iPod or similar gadget, why not load it with some Alizée videos and put it in your pocket in case Alizée comes up in conversation? And who knows? Maybe you can get your UEdS album signed!

The Alliance Francais presents: Chateau Marmont

Chateau Marmont is composed of four lovers of vintage material who excel in manipulating sounds, and are experts in the creation of subtle decadent atmospheres. Chateau Marmont embodies a particular idea of refinement à la française. So don't be surprised if your dandy side suddently appears, unbinded by the intoxicating sounds released by Chateau Marmont.

This Paris, France based quartet has spent the last couple of years shaping their unique brand of pop, almost Kraftwerkian music, with their two EPs Niburu and Solar Apex. Along the way, they have completed several very successful and high profile remixes for artists such as Royskopp, Ladyhawke, Chromeo, La Roux, Poney Poney and Midnight Juggenauts. They are currently putting the final touch on their debut full length album due out in summer 2011.

COST: $10 in pre-sales. Pre-sales will close at 4pm the day of the concert.
Tickets will be available at the door for $15

That's weird (at least for me). Why such age limit?

Probably because the venue serves alcohol, and 21 is the legal age to purchase alcohol in the US of A.

Although if you take a look at the schedule on ther website :

Friday 03.11.11
The Mighty Heard, Mello D and the Rados, Navi and the Whole Damn Delegation
Doors 9pm/Show 10pm/21+/$8

Saturday 03.12.11
Kohoutek, Luger (Spanish psych), Caves Caverns, PJB (aka Psychedelic Jam Band)
Doors 9pm/Show 10pm/21+/$8

Monday 03.14.11
The Alliance Francais presents: Chateau Marmont
$10 in advance, $15 at the door

Thursday 03.17.11
Immanent Voiceless, Keep, Samuel Joseph Kim
Doors 7:30pm/Show 9pm/21+/$8

Friday 03.18.11
Dark Sea Dream, 28 Degrees Taurus, Night and the City, Phonic Riot
Doors 9pm/Show 10pm/21+/$8

Thursday 03.24.11
Foul Swoops, Teen Mom
Doors 7:30pm/Show 9pm/21+/$7

All the dates say 21+ except for the CM date, so that might mean the age limit is lower for that show.
Someone would have to contact the place to confirm, I guess.

I was looking to PM you to encourage a visit, but then I noted the age limit. You could try calling them to see if they can waive the usual age restriction. i suspect it is more lucrative for musicians to play venues that serve liquor.

But if you can't get in, look at it this way - at least Alizée won't be performing!
