Give Robin a chance!
I was doing some yard work today when I came across a robin's egg that had apparently fell out of a nest. Now an egg is a pretty fragile thing and the odds of it surviving a fall are pretty slim. But this egg landed in a pile of leaves. Is there a chance for this egg. If there is, how do incubate it. Right now I have it sitting about 8 inches below a 40 watt light bulb. If it does hatch and the first thing it sees is me, am I going to have this Robin following me around for the rest of my life?

No, more like it sits in its nest waiting for you to feed it & thinking your it's mom. Then approximately 3 three weeks or so later it will fly off.

well.. as an animal sciences major, im sorry to say that but theres a good chance that it'll starve to death.
because new born chicks depend on food regurgitated from the mom.. and unless you plan on chewing up some worms, the chick isn't gonna get any food. unless of course, you have bird food/seed laying around? and of course, it also depends on how long the egg has been laying there. if its been there for too long, chances are, its already dead.

Thats a good plan, but if you place it back in the nest the mother wont touch it because it has ur sent on it.

This is getting way too complicated. Maybe I'll just go to plan B.
If it takes 3 minutes to boil a chicken egg. How long will it take for a robin egg? |

I would've just put it back in the nest. Even if that means putting on a superman suit and flying up there to it. |
