The qualification for the EURO 2012 in Poland & Ukraine started about a month ago and Sweden have done well so far
 No hard opponents, San Marino and Hungary but they lead the group over Netherlands with better goal difference. Sweden will meet Netherlands on October 12 in Amsterdam. I believe in a win for Netherlands though. It was also the first time Belarus and France played against eachother. France is currently ranked #27 in the world which is the lowest position they have ever had on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Belarus made a mover from rank 78 to rank 55 (+23) in September. France from 21 to 27 (-6).

It's not very often that Northern Ireland football is in the limelight.

A couple of friendly games was played today. A boring game between Sweden and Germany ended 0 - 0.
It was more fun at Wembley in London, England where England played France. France won 1 - 2. Maybe they are starting to recover from their bad World Cup experience.  England is bad at the moment though. It's just over a month ago since England played 0 - 0 at Wembley against Montenegro. Montenegro is currently ranked 16 in Europe, being ranked 38 in August.Finland beat San Marino 8 - 0 today as well. This was not a friendly game but a Euro 2010 qualification game.
