Although I understand that this is dangerous and there can be many complications, but what I don't understand is what skills or special ability does a person possess to do something like this. I mean what he is supposed to do and what such attempt demands from him physically and mentally?

Ahh well he has to very physically fit. The air up there is very very thin, so when he takes a breath he is not getting a lot of air. Its the same for people who climb Everest (except Everest is 28,000 ft and this jump was at 120,000 ft)
Next he has to be a skilled jumper, skydiving actually takes a lot of skill.
Finally he experiences enormous heating and G forces. He is going mach 1+ and is being slowed down by the denser air to terminal velocity which creates massive positive Gs .
Not just anyone could do this Merci.

BTW the announcer is an idiot lol. He says im not sure if he broke the Mach 1 mark. Of course he did lol, Mach 1 at see level is 750 mph ... this guy was going 720 mph at like 60,000 feet where Mach 1 is about 6 hundred something mph.
