Unhappy Another Decade is About to End!

Another Decade is About to End!
Are you looking forward to it, are you gonna miss the 00s?
I tell you I miss the 90s, being born in 1990 I'm a true 90s guy! Now we are going into 10s and culture as well as the generation will surely change. What are your thoughts?

Life is going too fast!!

I dont want to get too too TOO technical on you, but it doesnt start until 2011. Just like how when everybody thought the new millenium started in 2000, when in reality the new decade and new century and new millenium didnt start until 2001. Reason being is because there was no year 0. But I know what you mean

Yep time flies. I hate thinking like this, but in the next 20 years I'll be 44, the next 20 years I'll be 64, and so on. When you think of it like that, life is pretty damn short.

No bro your wrong, it stars at the 0 and there was a year 0.
(0 year 363 days AD is a date as well as 1 year 367 days AD)

2010 .. is the start of the 10s decade
2019 .. is the end of the 10s decade
2000 was the start of the 00s decade 2009 .. is the end of the 00s decade
1990 was the start of the 90s decade 1999 was the end of the 90s decade
1980 was the start of the 80s decade 1989 was the end of the 80s decade
1970 was the start of the 70s decade 1979 was the end of the 70s decade
1960 was the start of the 60s decade 1969 was the end of the 60s decade
1950 was the start of the 50s decade 1959 was the end of the 50s decade
1940 was the start of the 40s decade 1949 was the end of the 40s decade
1930 was the start of the 30s decade 1939 was the end of the 30s decade
1920 was the start of the 20s decade 1929 was the end of the 20s decade
1910 was the start of the 10s decade 1919 was the end of the 10s decade
1900 was the start of the 00s decade 1909 was the end of the 00s decade
1890 was the start of the 90s decade 1899 was the end of the 90s decade

you see the pattern?

and the year 2000 was the start of the new millenium, not 2001. Im 200 percent sure one this

No, FRA, *you* are wrong. There is no year zero (this would make zero sense, think about it). The year one lasted from 0 to 1 AD, the second year from 1 to 2 AD. The first century lasted from 1 up to and including 100 AD. The second millenium lasted from 1001 up to and including 2000. The third millenium/the 21st century began on january 1st 2001. The second decade of this century will begin on january 1st 2011. Look it up, this was discussed at length in 2000.

Hahaha of course Dreamer comes in because he has a sick fetish in trying to argue with me. Weather hes defending the right or wrong side he use the chance to argue with me, I find this hilarious and disturbing at the same time. I'm not reading what you wrote dreamer because im sure like always its pure BS!

I dont know about your past arguments with him and I dont really care to know, but it sounded like a legitamate discussion to me.

Anyway, read AstronomyBoy FRA if you are so inclined...

Just what is your problem? It's not my fault that you make quite a lot of mistakes and I will correct them whenever I see them. I do this regardless of who is wrong and regardless of whether I like that person or not. You must be really insecure if you get so defensive when all I did was stating the facts. You know, pretending you're right while refusing to even look at what others might have to say is an attitude that will get you in big trouble sooner or later...

Also, I dont have to "try to argue" with you. LOL
You're simply wrong, end of story.

No, there is no year zero, just as there is no day zero, no hour zero etc. The first year is simply the first 365 days (day one up to and including day 365). If there was a year zero the first decade would have had 11 years (unless you say year zero started one year BC but that doesnt make sense), it's simple.

2010 ends december 31 2010.
Correct. The *first* decade ends at the end of 2010 although all the other years in it are 'zero years' (01, 02, 03 etc.). There is no decade zero just as there is no year zero. See above.

I rest my case!
So facts don't matter if enough people agree with you? LOL. You won't be much of an engineer if you can't figure out simple math like that.

And yes, 1990 is part of the 9th decade, just as 1910 was part of the first decade. You can either talk about the 9th decade or about the 80s, they're the same thing. But the 80s are not the 8th decade. Get it now?
