Something almost Gallic today.
OMD and Maid of Orleans.
In Paris in March i visited Notre Dame Cathedral and said a few words and lit a candle at the shrine of Joan of Arc. Which is bizarre because i'm not Catholic. Just felt moved by it at the time.

Eva Cassidy was a folk singer and guitarist who died in 1996 at the age of 33. Her rendition of "Over The Rainbow" is held as perhaps the greatest, definitive recording of the song. She had a stunning, crystal clear voice. I cry everytime i listen to this....the emotion is simply too much. That compared with the fact she died so young not long after make this the saddest song i've ever heard.

A nice piece of perfect Pop tonight.
The Forget Me Nots were from Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.
Sadly they only ever released one album which is now very rare but worth every penny of the price tag it sells for these days.
As an aside, i became really friendly with Eithne (the dark haired singer).
I always hoped that the Nots would become huge megastars as i still have about 30 hand written letters from her. Lovely girl who is now an actress.
Enjoy. They should have been contenders. C'est la vie!
