I once did a 5 km run for a cancer charity and it was a total waste of time. I have lost both my mother and father to this terrible illness and it will most likely get me too. Well I'm done with this as it's like flies on shit.... so fuck it.... and fuck the 3002 people who walked for effin nothing!!

And I'm sorry too...

Well I'm not sure how much I might have discussed this in here in general or maybe in private with others, but I will go ahead and relate it here. Back in the mid 90s, I was living in Georgia, about a thousand miles south of here. I got divorced after being married for 11 years to a woman I was actually in a relationship with for 15 years. It was very painful for me. I wasn't a great husband, but I felt I wasn't a bad husband.

As many of you know, I'm an aircraft mechanic. This is a long story, but I'll try an shorten it. I had worked for Gulfstrean, a job I absolutely hated, but luckily I was hired to work for a charter company there. I took another part time job with an airline contract company there and through a lot of hard work, we won the contracts of every airline there.

One of those companies was Value Jet. They were a low budget airline which bought a lot of old Delta airline planes and formed an airline that grew probably too fast. I met a woman who worked for them who was an incredible character. She worked hard for them and was a huge reason for the success in this station. We met at a time when I was probably still not over my ex. We quickly fell in love with one another, but there were problems with in which direction we each wanted to go. Me and my ex had been in money problems for years and when an opportunity came up for me to take a good paying job, it was hard to turn down. At first she was willing to leave, but then at a time that was too late, she decided to stay. There were issues between our families too. In the end, it led to our break up.
This led to what I've often mentioned in here, my 7 years of depression, until I found out about the incredibly beautiful young singer named Alizée and the two talented persons who had so much to do with her success and that is MF and LB.

I used to be big into Napster, the file sharing site where I had downloaded so many songs and videos from. I had made up many cds with my favorite songs. This woman from Savannah I met, used to do some small time gigs in a band with freinds at different clubs. So whenever we were driving around together, she'd always be singing along with my cds.
So after we broke up, all my favorite songs would remind me of her. That's one reason why Alizee and even French music has meant so much to me. No bad memories from French music. No songs that reminded me of her.
I've often tried explaining this story to freinds and family and coworkers, but they quickly grow tired of this long story, so nobody around me understands my devotion to Alizée.

Well I heard this woman I left had married and though there were some complications, had a baby girl and I was very happy for her. I thought she had finally found happiness, though there was still a lot of depression in my life.

A few times I've gotten gift certificates for a store called "Bass Pro Shops", from family members at Christmas. I kind of hate that because to get to this store, I have to go down this road which is about 20 miles long with a signal light every mile. I didn't go out there until about 6 months later. I walked in the store and there was a song playing over th p. a. I had never heard this song before or the singer, but it was of such a familiar tune of songs my former girl freind would sing, that I left the store. I didn't just go out and wait until it was over, I jumped in my car and drove home.

Well a couple of years ago, I heard this woman had developed breast cancer. It was in a difficult location and they had to call in a specialist to try and remove it. Well it was removed and it came back. It also spread to one of her lymph nodes and in the resulting operations, she lost use of her arm and then it came back again. It turns out, though she didn't know it at the time, her family had a long history of breast cancer. If she had only known! So great a reason for breast cancer awareness!

Because of this, I had contact with her again and it was obvious she had never gotten over me and after all these years, it brought all those painful emotions back to the surface.

So this event in Rennes is to raise awareness for breast cancer "screening" and I can assure you as I write through the tears, it's no small matter.
The Marie-Do event is to raise money for cancer research. Marie worked in aviation as do I and my former girl freind and so it means a lot to me to donate to this cause. My mother died of cancer. I had some skin cancer successfuly removed last year and I was told I may or may not have prostrate cancer. I have to go every 6 months for check ups.

So I think these walks are a noble effort by thes people to raise money for this cause. I sent a check to Chez Paulo just a couple of days ago for $300 for this cause. I didn't ask for contributions in here because I've gone to that well too often. If anyone doesn't believe me, please contact them through the link below and ask them to send a picture of the post mark.

EDIT:

In fact here is a message I sent Chez Paulo about making a donation...

We've all lost family members to cancer. So has Alizée.

Scruffy - I had some BCC removed a few years ago. It's back. I go for removal in the next few days.

I understand Un-reve's frustration. We see events such as the 2k in Rennes all over this country. We see fund raisers, walk a thons, marathons, teams wearing pink to raise awareness yet though progress is being made, it's still all around us. You sometimes wonder if the medical industry raises so much money for cancer research that maybe they don't want to find a cure! It could be a financial disaster for them. But though I have no doubt something like that is possible in a country or two, research is going on world wide and I'm sure many truly are searching for a cure, so I still feel still supporting the cause is a good thing.

Medical industry is just about money, not about people. If they would like, there would be already a medicament which would work for 100%, not just give you one more year... But to help people is not a good business. If everyone would be healthy, medical industry would die.

Each year we heard how experts found a cure for that or something else... cancer, AIDS... years passed away, and there is still nothing.

I lost all my grandparents, my aunt, and now my mom is fighting with cancer for 5 years...

We are able to make artificial intelligence, put it in smartphones so the phone can chat with us, but no a 100% cure? ...

My condolences to those who has lost someone to cancer. I also lost my dad because of brain cancer just a year ago, he was one of very few family members i have complete trust in and love with all my heart, and i hope the least amount of people has to deal with losing someone like that.

I agree that much of the medical industry is run solely by money, and its truly dispicable that someone with hundreds of millions of dollars would bring pain and suffering to others, just so they can earn a couple of millions more. I do believe though, that most people in the field are doing hard, honest work trying to help people, it is why they chose their line of work.
Because lets be honest, there are very few people that is a doctor or medical scientist because they just LOVE doing a repetetive thing over and over, testing thousands of gels to put on a burnt piece of pork to test what works the best to cool a second degree burn, then write down information about countless of experiments that dident work. Of course i understand that their workday is different than that, but the people who choose to work in the medical field, most likely work there because they care about other people to begin with, and not because whatever work they do looked super fun when they were 18 years old trying to choose a career path.
Even if most of the medical industry consists of lazy, entitled assholes whose only goal is to earn money, then that is not their blame in my opinion. If medical science is really such hard work that they dont bother doing it with all of their heart, then that is human nature at work, reacting to its environments and adjusting to it. If it is true that they are all assholes, then if you entered the medical field with all good intentions, you would probably also become one of those assholes.

And do not forget, cancer is not one type of cell in one place of the body that can be eradicated by one drug or a supplement. Cancer can develop in hundreds of areas in the body, and no case of cancer is the same, which is why it is so hard to cure completely.
I think that if it were the fact that they are just assholes looking to earn money, then alot more common sicknesses would be deemed only treatable and we would all take a shot a week to keep sore throat and pimples away.

It might be really inappropriate of me to write this, but its late at night and i feel like i need to get it of my chest. Lets just hope that a breakthrough will happen soon, appreciate what we got now, and do the little things we believe can help. Being negative about the situation will only lessen your life quality, but understandably, its much easier to be negative than positive when it comes to these kinds of things. Stay strong and hope you can keep worshipping Alizée as long as possible

Never regret posting your feelings in here. The only thing to worry about is whether it's in the right forum, but that obviously is one thing that's never been a problem here.

There's a lot of greed an corruption in this world, but there is a tremendous amount of good too, and that good is why we are here. I'm sure Alizée is far from perfect, but we've learned over the years, the great values she has. She's a woman with incredibly high standards and I think she herself doesn't realize that. But it's one of the main reasons, even though her singing career has had problems, that I follow her every day.

post - share - add to your playlists so view count goes up , play it through when you aren't even watching - like -comment - tell people , tell two more people , make them tell two more people - this will wake you up if you havent been already

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBUGVkmmwbk

There is a cure and probably many of them - the crooks and criminals wont allow it and use our money to shut them down .

You all need to watch the burzynski documentary its on youtube and netflix etc .

You all will know this too something ive realised about the cancer industry . .
Remember when you were young and you rarely heard someone had cancer ?
It was very shocking and not nearly as often as it happens today , i've no doubt not only do they not want a cure but have done things to make cancer thrive and become mainstream where EVERYONE is affected by it thus dramatically increasing their profits from death and destruction of not only the cancer victims but families too . not only is it an evil design where most monies raised goto those very crooks and criminals of mass genocide for profit but NOT to those families who need help in this evil system nor the actual non toxic cures . but the funds that end up killing people cutting them apart and poisoning them with chemicals that right on the label say they CAUSE cancer and many other nasty side affects .

Now i have no idea about AJ's causes here but by the looks of them they aren't so evil as many of us affected by this feel . As Scruffy noted its about awareness but i honestly would never donate a penny to pink this or that after watching the Burzynski movie . Not only do i recommend watching it once but watch it twice then watch it again then tell two friends to tell two friends to do the same thing . It's picking up steam year after year and eventually people will wake up .

As for the whole fairy tale and i have no doubt idea created by pharma that the system would collapse is just more scare tactics . The world advances constantly for GOOD and it doesn't end up with us all fckd as they want us to be afraid of . They do howsoever know it would cut into their pockets which is a joke because those with wealth know damn well they don't even need it. To toy with peoples lives in 100 years will be looked at like we were barbaric cavemen and justice will prevail .

I'm sorry to hear other members here have also lost family members and friends to this illness, yet some people deal with things better than others or maybe they are just stronger than others.. I don't know?

When my father passed away I was gutted, moreover I was also very bitter as all the doctors and health professionals with all their tests etc' still missed his cancer.. even in the last couple of months of his life when it was evident he was severely ill. I still remember his last words to me as he said " take care of your mother" and so I became her carer as she had some problems with her own health. We still had good times though and made the best of things although there were times that were not so good due to her poor health and even though we made the best of things there were many worries.

Well I was always more close to my mother than my father but I became even closer to her the last couple of years.... she was my life. I won't go into all the details of her health but once again I feel "IF" the doctors had not gone around the houses and didn't keep us waiting weeks and weeks on end between each hospital appointment aswell as checking her kindneys out first, then she could have had cryotherapy but by the time her cancer was detected it was too late for cryotherapy and she wasn't fit enough to have surgery due to other health issues. The only option left was to have radiotherapy but subsequently she had a stroke and things became more complicated.
Moreover as she now needed 24 hour care due to her stroke.. the social worker, doctors etc' told us she had to go into a nursing home and that was against her wishes and all the wishes of me and my family members. I was also told I wouldn't be able to take care of her as it was a risk to her health and so my mother was in that nursing home for 10 months.

Well I went in almost everyday for her and it was hard trying to make the best of things and the nights were even harder.. yet once again we both did. Then 10 months later a new social work came on the scene and told us your mother shouldn't be here against her will.. well to cut a long story short, it wasn't easy going but eventually we got a care package set up ( had carers coming in 4 times a day ) to get mum back home but ironically by that time she was in even worse health than when she first went into the nursing home.

Nonetheless I couldn't believe she was coming home and although we had some nice times together again, unfortuantly I only had her back for 4 months and then she sadly passed away.... I get upset a lot, I'm now drinking a lot, I get angry a lot, but mostly I just feel lost..... I pray for her and I just want a sign to know she is now atleast happy, healthy and free with those she loves up there in heaven..... I need to know that and then maybe I can then move on with more than just hope.

My mother was, is and always will be very special to me.. I miss her so much!

I might take time to watch it sometime soon, but im quite busy now because of school. But here's my thoughts on what you've said so far.

If there are multiple companies working to treat cancer, wouldent one of them, who has the cure, earn more money from selling the cure? It would instantly put every other similar company out of business, and the person who discovered the cure would be the richest person alive, and so would their children, and grandchildren etc. There is no reason for someone who has the cure to cancer, to keep it for him/herself. You might say that they would run out of people to treat, and would so stop to earn money on treating patients, but why would anyone sacrifice a life of being the richest person alive, just so they can keep the scam going for another hundred years? Whatever company comes out with the cure for cancer first, will be the only company who cures cancer. Im sure any company who has the secret would announce it as quick as possible to ensure a wealthy life, especially if they are greedy crooks or criminals.

Did you consider the fact that you dident have internet or barely phones when you were young? We have better access to information today than you did when you were young. We live in the most peaceful century of the human race, yet we hear more about pain and suffering than we have ever done before. Of course you hear of more cases of cancer today than you did when you were younger. We also have much more increased lifespans than we did before, which ultimately; inscreases the risk of cancer and diseases in general. Im thinking you havent looked that much into why cancer rates has increased, instead you have taken the quickest approach and assumed the most negative answers and assembled them like a puzzle, concluding that there are evil people who is behind cancer, and that they are keeping the cure for themselves.

Im not quite sure what you're trying to say here. Do you mean that the people who earn money from cancer are producing products that cause it?
Bleach and ammonia has warning labels on the bottle, says its fumes can be dangerous for your health and to visit a doctor if you get some of it in your eyes etc, so you dont inhale the fumes or toy around with these dangerous products, right?. Cigarettes and other cancer causing products are literally covered with pictures of black lungs and dead children, saying it is dangerous to smoke.
Now, do you blame people who produce bleach because people die from it every year? Do you blame the companies that create ammonia and bleach, because some people mix them and create mustard gas that kills people every year?

Il take a look at the documentary you suggested when if i get the time, and come back to you afterwards.

Im sorry for your loss...

My father got cancer around the time i started in first grade when i was 6 years old, so i only have vague memories of him being healthy, and im sure he regretted every day that he couldent take me fishing and hiking like he would take my older brothers when they were younger. After being so slowly adjusted to him being unable to take care of himself, i made up excuses so i wouldent have to take so much care of him, i dident have to do much, just basic chores for the most part, but me being that young in such a situation made it hard for me to truly understand what i was dealing with. He became more and more immobile throughout the 10 year he suffered with cancer, loosing the movement of half of his body and missing the ability to talk the last few months before he died. In the end i bet he had alot to say, and so did i, but being how i am, it never came out. He was a very understanding person though, especially after going through what he did. The fact that he was lying in the hospital, being unable to talk for the last 6 months, staring at me with weeping eyes trying to talk to me, but with only nonsense gibberish coming out was the hardest part. I bet he wouldent have known he spoke weird gibberish unless we told him, as he kept talking as if he understood his own words. I just had to tell him that i understand he has alot to say, and that he has nothing to worry about, and that i dont blame him for anything and that i love him. There was nothing else i could say.
Cancer really sucks.
