'moi...Lolita' catalogue numbers
I've come across something that causes me a little bit of confusion. The CD-single release of "Moi...Lolita" by Polydor over on http://www.swisscharts.com/showitem....E+Lolita&cat=s has two different cover images but the same catalogue number of 561 956-2 (that's the top two images on the right hand side). Is that for real or are they mistaken? I would of thought two different covers would be, like, two different releases, subsequently, two different catalogue numbers by Polydor. But here there isn't.
Any help from you avid fans would greatly be appreciated to clarify/understand this consideration. Thanx. |

So the description Cd Single 561 956-2 right underneath the cover is wrong. That is the 2-track single. I use swisscharts.com now and then, but I think it's a bit messy. Nice for a first check (like Wiki), but a second opinion elsewhere is needed. |

That's what I kind of figured. The top one is like as in: http://www.priceminister.com/offer/b...d-CD-Maxi.html with the six tracks, and the CD-Single is: http://www.priceminister.com/offer/b...CD-Single.html
It's just that priceminister.com doesn't give catalogue numbers, for the most part, and the zoom photo I couldn't really decipher that well, if at all. Just needed confirmation on that for my own confidence. Really appreciate it. I found http://www.priceminister.com/offer/b...CD-Single.html on priceminister.com but it doesn't show on swisscharts.com at all. I don't know if it's a bootleg or what because of that so I'll have to do some more researching on my part. But I do like that cover art though. It would be a shame if it wasn't an official release. Of course, it does say Universal/Polydor but... Thanks again. |

Boy, those extra photos of the CD-Single 'Amélie m'a dit - Live' sure do make it tempting. I like the way you show both front and back covers plus inserts, really a professional performance there.
I agree with you as well on sometimes http://swisscharts.com/showitem.asp?...tout+bas&cat=s can be a rather messy thingamajig. It seems to have the cover art for the 45 tours (rpm) while advertising it as a CD-Single Polydor 587 699-2. At least that's how I'd read http://www.priceminister.com/offer/b...-45-Tours.html which tends to confuse me but at least it's on the cover as '45 tours,' denoting it rather as a 7" 45 rpm instead of a CD. Really interesting work there swisscharts.com, oh well. Thanx again for your input and information 'JaG,' really helps out. I've been stung before thinking I was getting a CD but received a 7" vinyl instead. Doesn't help out if I don't have a turntable any more. Hard to play them thar vinyls on a CD player these days. Like to avoid confusion on subsequent purchases, especially when some are being sold in the 100 to 200 euro variety. Last edited by WyomingGrizFan; 04-21-2008 at 12:08 AM.. |

It's still on the wishlist, if for a reasonable price and good shape... Pics are "stolen" from http://www.nidalizee.com/new_version/index01.htm Good and reliable resource. Goto discographie--->la discographie (can't directlink) It's all there. Last edited by Just a Guest; 04-21-2008 at 05:56 PM.. |
