Release Dates 9/26
Hmm, I've heard on our official news board, (which is soo ironic, because this sooo isn't official news, but total speculation), that because Alizee is in love with the number 26, she's gonna release her single 9.26, the video 10.26, and the album 11.26.
If that's the case, kill me. I can't wait until the end of november, I just cant... its impossible, ill bomb paris (after escorting alizee out of the vicinity)!!! If she's impatient to release her album why would she release it in december (practically the beggining of really). Plus, this is stupid speculation, and I request it be taken off of the official news discussion, or at least make it say that its speculation, because its the same exact idea as 50/60 being 09/05 and that the single would release then, which it didn't which proves exactly how false this is. Plus the fact that the single will really (according to official new releases) be released in october.... so what i'm asking is. A: do you agree with this?? B: if so, dont you wanna shoot urself cuz of the wait? and C: shouln't they take that post down now? |

Well, we know that Mlle Juliette is releasing to radio in the last week. We know that the music video will release a month after that, and that the album will release a month after that. So, there are 7 days left in September for the single to release.
The 26th, which RCA Mexico supposedly announced, is somewhat believable. However, it doesn't really matter to me which day next week things start rolling; "this week" is by far close enough to exactness for me. When the album comes out, if RCA has the sense to send it out to iTunes internationally, I'll get an email which will allow me to buy it instantly. 128kbps AAC will unfortunately have to do until I can get my hands on a physical disc...

I have a feeling this thread isn't going to last very long so I'll post this now. Most artists rely on the publisher on release dates. Unless you are a HUGE star and have full reign on what goes on. Very few artists are that big. This is a choice for RCA. If they trust Alizee, moneywise, then they will do her bidding. If not, they will call the shots.

Plus, iTunes has great quality, much better than downloading thru limewire or whatnot, itunes tries to optimize the quality of there songs, so its prob the same quality as the disc. |

hey at least we KNOW there is an album now, and it finally has a record company behind it. i don't think you would have made it the past few years. Lots of ups and downs, false rumors, shattered expectations, you name it.

I had NRJ radio on for a while and I thought I heard Alizée's name mentioned and something about this next week. My French is bad and my ability to understand spoken French is virtually nonexistent, so I wouldn’t put much faith in what I just said...

Until very recently, everything on iTunes was encoded at 128kbps AAC. This is equivalent to 160kbps MP3 (it takes up about the same amount of space, though). It sounds great if you're listening to it using the speakers or headphones that come with a computer or DAP, but that's because they're not good enough to reveal the detail that would have been there. Once you buy a proper pair of headphones (if you know which ones to get, you can get great headphones for very little), you'll realize that there was far more to your music that you thought, and having proper quality will make a huge difference. I only have a 2 gig iPod nano at the moment, so I encode my music at 256kbps VBR (variable bit rate). Once I upgrade to something with more space, I will certainly increase the quality. Anyway, back on topic, 128kbps AAC from iTunes really isn't much good compared to what you can get elsewhere. It has about a tenth of the detail that CDs have (though the human ear is unable to hear some of the detail that is ditched). iTunes Plus, which recently came out, is DRM-free AAC encoded at 256kbps, which is a huge improvement, and acceptable for something that you have to download. However, Sony BMG won't accept the fact that DRM is useless, so they wouldn't allow Alizée's new album to be released on iTunes Plus.
