I'm not serving, but I am thinkng about joining the Army or Air Force. I was very close to signing for the Army but backed out to give it more thought. I am also considering the Navy. But when I was joining the Army I was gonna go for Military Police, but I may look at being a Air Policeman or Master at Arms for the Air force or Navy. Dunno so many options in the military to look at, its so hard to choose. I always thought the Coast Guard would be cool but there nearest recruitment office is like a 3-4 hour drive

Coast Guard is good, they do a lot more varied jobs, in a whole BUNCH of different places... Up to you.... I don't know how the Master-@-Arms program has changed or not in the last few years, but it used to be you had another training (another job) and you were trained after that to be MAA.... Wish you luck in whatever you choose Ed Quote:

Okey, you might not say I'm a military I don't but anyway. Sweden got Army, Navy, Airforce and a thing we call "hemvärnet". It is close to the U.S.A.'s "National Guard". Inside "Hemvärnet" there is mostly military whannabes with not much disiplin. but they also has a prodject for sweds in the ages 15-19 wich we get trained in everything except combat training. Since I turned 15 this year I am in the begginer stage, then there is advanced stage and the last two one's is Leadership 1, Leadership 2. To make this even more advanced there is a part called "Försvarsutbildarna" wich trains personal to "Hemvärnet". "Försvarsutbildarna" also runs the youth prodject, it is just that these youths get trained by real army people, not some whannabe. (I call them so :P) So they get more disiplin, they arent just fooling around. So I am in "Försvarsutbildarna ungdom". When I get 19 years old I am going to do the compulsory, seeking for the army as what we call "Jägare" wich basicly is the frontsoldier (Infantry). And then later on I am going to seek for the "Nordic Battle Group"
I am apoligzing for any possbile wrong spelling etc. For further intressts I refere to this site: http://www.forsvarsutbildarna.se/en/

Canada for one..we have a military but we are more of a peacekeeping kind of country. So really for us we have a military but we mostly go out to wars and try to stop them in a good way...or thats what we have been told to believe, but Canada has a small military and they ore over in Afghanistan now trying to win the war on terror over there! But like i said we are more of a peacekeeping country.
