When I make some of the comments I do about the Corsican people and their heritage I wasn't kidding. Back in the late 1800's almost a 1/4 of the Islands population was murdered off due to revenge killings. Some poo pooed my comments saying that times change unfortunately people don't.

I've been paying some attention to Corsica since I first heard about the place several months ago. There have been several assassinations of prominent people, bombs set off after hours at businesses, and arson at houses under construction. I don't really know the why for any of this, I think some of it has to do with some people there wanting to keep progress away, as in big box stores, and vacation homes. Some want to be independent of France. Then there seems to be some kind of organized crime thing going on as well. The translators don't do a very good job on the articles, so it's pretty fuzzy to me. But I don't think Alizée or any other ordinary citizen is in danger there. I think it is actually a safe and peaceful place for her and she obviously loves being there in her hometown. But I imagine if you get on someones bad side there, you'd better watch out.
