Possibly Gayane Ballet Suite (Adagio) by Khachaturian. You can hear it in 2001: A Space Odyssey, right as they cut to Discovery for the first time and Bowman is doing his jog and soforth. But there are lots; until high school I didn't really listen to much music with lyrics.

A short clip.

I love it because it's so relaxing, but at the same time it just flows. It doesn't seems to have any rigid structure at all, never repeats a section. It just flows like one long continuous free-form stream of consciousness. It's just beautiful.

Well it looks like nobody is jumping on the obvious so here it is...
Hawaii Five O - The Ventures
Pipeline - The Ventures
The list goes on. Nearly everything they did was great.

You could have listed anything by Hendrix that fit this catagory and we couldn't argue.

AF's post reminded me of Harold Faltermeyer's "Axel F".
I think Rank 1's "Airwave" has got to be up there too.

If we're doing classical too, then there are too many options to list. I'll start with Bach's Unaccompanied Cello Suites, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and Beethoven's Ode to Joy.

Wow where do I begin? Swan Lake, Blue Danube, Dance of the Sugarplums Fairys, The Magic Flute, Theme from The Munsters and I could go on

Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, or Vivaldi's The Seasons. Hard choice.

(The Magic Flute has lyrics, Rocket. It's an opera.)

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

I've loved it ever since I was very young.
