Edit: That file was created from YouTube using a re-encoding screen capture method apparently. The real file from YouTube can be captured with "Download Helper" and is only around 20MB. I don't know what is better.

I had downloaded it from Youtube using realplayer, most of you know if you have real player a download video banner will pop up above a video on Youtube if you move your cursor up around the top right corner of the screen.

I then sent the picture as a tv out signal to a second computer where I recorded it as an mpeg. Then uploaded it.

On the previous page, I meant to post the shortcut to the shortened version of the interview, but double posted the Kobini interview. I corrected that post and am listing it here too.

I hadn't previously noticed the spelling problem at the end of the J'Y ETAIS television report about the 2010-03-29 Alizée autograph session at the Virgin superstore on the Champs-Elysées, which is illustrated by the frame grab below. When will French people learn to spell Alizée?

I dont speak french but is it possible that is another way of spelling it without the e with the accent mark over it? Like my name Mikie can also be spelled Mikey

Actually, no, it was just a bonehead mistake and a failure to proofread. I see that in English all the time. No reason why the French should be immune.

One cool aspect of the massive information we have through dirt-cheap digital technology is that it provides a rich source of experimental data. Surely even today, the Web is not the world, but the two are certainly converging.

So when there is an argument about spelling, rather than consulting L'Académie française, I am wont to look at how many search hits Google measures each of the alternatives to enjoy.

Sadly, things are more complicated than I'd like for the issue at hand. Both the spellings there and their are CORRECT - they are DIFFERENT (homophonic) words. So my little test is hardly the last word.

Anyway, here are the results for the various text strings listed below, with SafeSearch set Off (I like my Web as "dangerous" as possible, LOL. Hey, why isn't there is search setting that lets us JUST get the stuff censored by SafeSearch?)

In the last case, the two YouTube videos placed at page top feature the Corsican fairy, and so represent true mis-spellings.

As for the first case, the folks active here might take some pride in one of the hits which lead the pack -

then the Wikipedia biography,

then a set of 6 snapshot images,
then http://www.alizee-forum.com/,
and then Alizée America, at about mid-page.
