People asked about the term "Romance Language."
Technically, the Romance languages are a sub-branch of the Italic language group, branching from Vulgar Latin (considered to be a "dead" language). Corsican is a part of this branch, as is French, Spanish & Italian. English and German are part of the Germanic language group.
