You could have put either one, they were both acceptable. She just said that if you didn't put your mail address, you would receive an email asking for it.

But what if you had put in your mail address and no email address?
I did that, in all my excitement I hit send and remembered that I didn't include the email address, and I added it like 200 comments later (though it was only a minute in between)

If you posted your mailing address without a name or email address, then I guess those people just got overlooked? Otherwise, she wouldn't know who to personalize it to.
