Yes and no. TalkShoe dropped out from under us after about 3 hours (and wasn't all that spectacular to begin with, honestly), but Spenser came through with a Vent server that we were able to continue on. (Huge thanks for that, Spenser!!) Honestly, if we do something like this again, we should probably just start on Vent to begin with.

Overall, it was a great effort! A core group of about 9 voters held strong throughout the day (12 hours!!), with others dropping in and out as they were able. NarutoSoul acheived the awesome milestone of 3,000 votes total(!), and Mixmaster Barrett hit 2150 as he said, between supplying a near-constant medley of tunes for our listening enjoyment (with some help here and there from Amigo!). And Jung, Ciara, Tomtentp and Nurvonic were all awesome at getting conversation going and the energy back up whenever things started to lag a little.

Highlight of the day for me came early on, when we converted at least one curious passerby at Talkshoe into a Lili fan with a constant stream of photos, videos and music. Guest 7, whoever you were, I hope you join up here at AAm!

Sorry that I appeared to poop out on you guys at the end--I afk'd to grab a quick bite to eat and take what I thought would be a short phone call from my brother. I did come back--an hour later, oops--but everybody was already gone by that point.

Anyway, massive thanks to everybody who came out, even for a little while. It was a good time, and I think we made some major headway in voting for Lili. It was great to "meet" everybody, and we'll have to do it again.

Keep on voting, guys! Just two more days to put Lili over the top!

I sure hope its counting every time you guys vote. Seeing as many as you have put in everyday it would seem like a fluke if she didn't win.

Heh, maybe. Spenser has graciously offered up the Vent server for AAm's use in the future, so it's a possibility. I think we'd need to set a discussion topic or something in advance to ensure everybody was more vocal, or at least armed with something to talk about. Granted, this was the first one, so it was bound to be a little awkward, but if not for the valiant efforts of a few, we might have sat in silence the whole time.

Heh, there was a scary moment in the chat here at AAm early in the evening when Jamie tried to put one over on us by saying he'd read on the MTV site that they were only counting one vote per IP...

Looking at it logically, though, if they weren't counting every vote, they wouldn't even bother to let you vote more than once. Why let us suck up the unnecessary bandwidth, especially when there's IP's like NarutoSoul's that are quite obviously voting multiple-upon-mulitple times in an hour, every hour? They've gone to great lengths to change the site and make it obvious that you have to vote in ALL the categories for your vote to count--I suspect they'd go to similar lengths to prevent multiple votes from a single IP if they weren't allowed.

Uhm yeah, the voting thing was leeching all my energy like a vampire. In the end I just sat (laid) there spamming the Alizée icon area
