There's no way Alizée could be considered the French Britney Spears. Even in the Mylène days she had FAR too much class. In fact I can't think of any American performers who are a good match, and the only French performer who comes to mind is France Gall. Or maybe Jenifer Bartoli (but really only because both singers are Corsican).

That's good that there are no Americans that are like her....and yah Alizee is really similar to France Gall, and has done a billion of her songs

When people compare her to Britney Spears, I think they're not referring to personal style or attitude. I think they mean that they were both very young when they first came into the spotlight (15-16) and they were both captivating and phenomenal. Behavior aside, Britney was unique and talented back when she was a teenager. Same with Alizee. It's true that they are both very different people and Alizee has and has always had a much classier act, but otherwise I think Britney is the closest we could get when comparing careers.

Britney Spears doesn't have all that good a voice, actually. She's not a bad dancer, though, and she can be very sexy in a pouty, childish way. But her style and approach to performing are night and day compared to Alizée. It's the style of performance and the type of music they sing I'm thinking of when I say they're nothing alike, not the personal behavior (although that's very different, too).
