Default Tempo seems to change with mood?

Has anyone noticed that Alizee's music, A Contre Courant for example, seems to change tempo depending upon ones mental state or mood?

ACC, along with a lot of other songs, seems lulling, even sedating at times. Yet at other times, it's as if you're listening to a fast remix.

Sound familiar?

I have noticed this effect with Moi...Lolita a lot. Probably has something to do with changes in neurotransmitter concentration (dopamin, serotonin etc.). Don't ask me to explain this in detail, I have no idea what I'm talking about

Well, In A Contre Courant at least, the actual tempo is quicker, but the song seems to bring out the back-and-forth Q&A form quite closely, which gives it a strong swaying feel, the sways being rather slow.

[This shows up a bit more if you watch the Dans La Lumiere video at the same time , I've found. I think it's the typically French lighting effects.

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who had experienced this phenomenon. Sometimes, when I really want to get into a good mood, I'll begin to listen to a song such as Moi Lolita, A Contre Courant, Hey! Amigo, and especially Gourmandises, only to find that the progression of the song seems horribly slowed.

Gourmandises frightened me the most (I say "frightened" because I no longer am, having found company with you guys) because the piano rift is the most glaringly evident tempo-keeper which, at times, made me feel as if everything in the song was slooooooooooooowing dooown [voice distorts and becomes progressively deeper as it fades out].

I wonder if these songs were created by the duo to be interpreted as such...

No you're nuts and need to make an appointment with your local shrink and get your Rx refilled for Pete's sake ! (j/k)

Yes, I've experienced similar affects but not necessarily with just Lili's music. As you've already mentioned it depends on ones mental state/mood at that point in time.
