I'm one of those newfags who have only seen the movies and have not read the books... and am completely fine with that.

I have read some of the books, such as about half of The Lord of the Rings and the entire Hobbit.. but honestly, they were so damn BORING. Way too descriptive.

I'm not hating on the books, but just saying that the movies are much more enjoyable.

I'm glad you know that feel bro.

And as for you WhiteFeather, call me back when books come in bluray and 5.1 surround sound.

------

I remember trying to read the first page of The Sorcerer's Stone and thinking to myself quote "This is going to take a lot of time which I could be doing other things with" and put the book down.

I think the only books I've ever read and preferred over their film counterparts are Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, and Lolita.

I actually said the same thing. Never got past page 3 in Harry Potter just because it was so boring and stupid, I never got into it like everyone else. So I say "screw you, Potter." Movies were crap too (at least the first was, don't know about the others).

Now LOTR, LOTR is a freakin' masterpiece. Shame on you. Scouring of the Shire? Ever hear about it? No? Maybe because you weren't cool enough to read the books?

Anyways, what makes me happy?

I never really listen to The Cure, but this cover is the greatest thing.

Damn straight. I read through the series twice in one year once. I've read the Silmarillion twice. TWICE. Every page. And enjoyed it both times! Beren and Luthien? Shit's beautiful, yo.

I will fight you with my nerd cred.

Anyway, new girlfriend makes me happy too. Not to steal your thunder, VVV.
