well I'm not sure about Riva FLV, I couldn't download it for some reason .

What I use to convert FLV files to mp4 files to play on my IPod is AnyVideoConvert it's pretty easy to use and quite effective imo

You could use the FLV Player.

Or you can open any file with VLC.

I recommend both.
