Quote:
Congrats, Scruffy! I just ordered 2 tickets from FNAC for the Oct 23 concert. How long did it take to receive the tickets by mail, after you ordered them? I can't believe I'm going to be able to see Alizee perform in a small venue like Grand Rex... i think i'm dreaming..

Six days for Snatcher and Amigo, I think, but when I talked to AlphaDevil2 on alizee-forum last night he was still (worriedly) waiting for his.

Paris sites
I'm posting a map for people who are going to her concert on the 23rd of October and haven't been to Paris before.
It has most of the major historical landmarks marked in red. But there are four sites highlighted with a light greenish circle and a yellow thumb tack that are of huge historical importance that the average person doesn't know about. The first one is in the upper right. It has no number It is where the Grand Rex theater is. The second one is in the center near the top labeled #1 This is the Olympia theater, where she filmed her En Concert DVD. I tried to get inside in the middle of the day when nothing was scheduled until that night, but not even 40 euros would persuade the guy behind the ticket counter to let me in to take a few pictures. The third one is in the lower right hand corner. This is where she performed J'ai pas vingt ans in 2003 on the occassion of the end of the 100th running of the Tour de France. This building that it is performed in front of is called the Hotel de Ville. It's actually city hall Paris and I haven't done enough research yet to figure out why they call it the Hotel de ville. I asked a couple of Parisians when I was there in April if it had been a hotel at one time, but they seemed to be quite confident, such was not the case. The last and certainly not least is number 3 which is on the left side towards the bottom right next to the Eiffel tower. This is where Alizée performed once again J'ai pas vingt ans. The occassion was the celebration of the completion of the installation of a series of strobe lights all up and down the Eiffel tower. They turn these lights on at night for 10 minutes at the top of each hour. It's a really spectacular sight especially if you see it around Christmas time and you're not expecting it. I was there in December of 2003 for Alizée's autograph session. Afterwards I went on a little tour of Paris at night. I was walking down a hill when I could see part of a street that the trees of were all lined with red Christmas lights. I walked down to get a closer look and when I turned the corner, up in between all these red lights were the flashing strobe lights of the Eiffel tower. What an amazing site. By scruffydog777 |
