Despite my lack of French, I just thing the language has a....sexy sound to it (until spoken by men!) and the mystery of the lyrics is also attractive. That said, I'd LOVE her to do an English version of "Moi...Lolita"
haha you gave me a laugh there bro. Yeah I know what you mean

These are masterpieces of art that transcend the individuals, where the whole is so much better than the sum of the parts. Don't get me wrong; Alizée sings beautifully in English too. And folks can be perfectly happy just listening to that angelic voice singing in French, while never understanding what goes beyond. But there is a power of art where voice, composition, and lyrics are wrought as one. .
Yes, that is exactly how i feel about Alizee's music, while i like her personality, her songs are a totally different thing, many people fail to recognize the diffrence between personality, situation, and the work of art. Wether its english or in french, the music is the same. i dont know much french, but i was caught by the music, not the language or the type of music it is, i like johnny cash, elton john, nickelback, saving ben, and 40 diffrent artists ranging from chinese to spanish. Many of these songs i didnt understand, but i loved them for what they are, instruments like the tissue of your body or mechanical pieces, all racing for a place to fill in to biuld a car or your arm. How they weave together to form one functioning finger, or engine or in this case, a note. Then it continues to biuld up complexity, joined by other instruments, a guitar, piano, forming a hand, and so on, until the car is biult. I remember this from Moi lolita, how everything biult up into a beautifull rush of sounds. Or in A Contre-Courant, biuld of notes, washes over as a repeat, and another biuld, and the tune was really strange and funky, it just holds you in a trance.
Anyway, people these days look to deep into things to try and figure out the real meaning behind it, but in the end, its still what its intended to be and thats most likely the reason its there

Thumbs up

This is my first post here @ Alizee America! I agree to some degree with just about all the posts on the subject of language for Alizee. If it is a French song I prefer that language. If it is an English song I prefer it in English. French is a beautiful language when spoken by Alizee and I basically understand nothing in French. Maybe it has enhanced my love of Alizee's music because I can concentrate on the rhythm , instruments and here very beautiful and unusual voice. Even in English the rhythm, beat, and instrumentation is much more important than the lyrics to me or that is what gets my attention first.
I really like this sight. Friendly and for the most part true Alizee fans. Real people without the attitude. Looking forward to being a part of A.A.

That's a fact. I can't really put a finger on exactly what sets her apart from other artists besides Alizee seems very intelligent, a big heart, loving, integrity, down to earth, courageous, loyal, beautiful, eyes that peer clear down to your sole, Just answered my own question didn't I. She has me bad! It hurts so good! Thanks for the welcome TheBarrett

Default Cant sleep tonight o.O

Its either me, the french language, or the fault of american competition.....but why do i get the feeling that the french make better songs than the english or russians.....heck, even punk rock sounds better in french, and i hate punk rock, i mean just listen to jeremys music.....USA music is too much of the same old, but the french make music go so smoothly, it makes you WANT to listen to the song, and when i listen to english, i just listen to the words and just cant wait until the song gets its point across, THEN i decide wether i like it or not. French music makes you settle into the song and wait for the next flow of sounds, it just makes you want the music to go on for a good 10 mins before it stops, and you never really take heed of the words. (maybe because french lyrics are really wierd and mystique, half the time, you cant even interpret the sentences) And yet, somehow, after its done, it makes you agree with the song to some level.
