I call house techno in public for the same reason I call jungle and Drum n Base techno. People without interest in 'electronic music' goes "w00t?".

Depeche you say, their sound is kind of dark and slow (industrial), not sure it goes well with Alizée who in these days are more of an up-tempo disco girl. Have to experiment with that one in my head for awhile

Yeah Kylie was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard this song, and the video is similar aswell. I also feelt a connection to Yelle, but that's maybe because of the french and techtonic dance (I love that dance).

When it comes to techno music, the best stuff came about in the 70's when the genre was in its infancy. An example is german group Kraftwerk, electronic music pioneers.
