Default Universal Studios

ok, now that i've got quite a few CDs regarding Alizee(thanks to scruffydog!), i've noticed the Universal Studios logo on many of them.. does that indicate that she plans on really stepping onto the US music platform? or am i hopelessly grabbing at nothing?

Universal is owned by French company Vivendi, actually, and their Music Group is the largest record label in the world, including in France. Alizée was on them prior to Psychédélices.

The French own a lot of companies over here. I believe at one time they owned RCA.

Not so intresting... Like all bigs companies nowadays, they don't really saw themselves as own by a nation... Vivendi is not really French... it is Worldwide...

wait now im confused.. didnt' universal studios start off as a small American company(called nickleodeons)? then some investors or some other such people got together and said hey! lets call our selves Universal Studios??

that's what that one guy on the Magic of the Movies said. I believe Magic of the Movies is the souvenier video thingy for Universal Studios Orlando.

You're confusing Universal Studios and Universal Music Group, Wasabi. UMG is entirely owned by Vivendi, while Universal Studios is part Vivendi, part NBC/General Electric. Yeah, most of this stuff started in America, but as Bigdan said it's all multinational now and knows no borders. The logo you're seeing on Alizée's discs is UMG, and really has nothing to do with the movie studios or theme park in Orlando. The same way her Sony logos don't really have anything to do with Japan either.
