This is one of my favorite looks and it's a look I don't think that has ever been captured in a photo. I first noticed it in a fan made video called 'NextDoorAlizee' which was put together by a fan from Finland who I met on one of my trips last year. I'm quite sure it came from an interview. I'm not sure if I can find it or not.

Here is a look that you probably can't capture the beauty of with just a still. I think it's one of her most incredibly beautiful looks. I tried to figure the look out. She's looking out at the crowd and it almost looks like she saw something that embarrassed her.

If I had one video to show to somebody that captures most of Alizee's beauty, talent, and charms, the Eiffel Tower performance would probably be the one I would select. When she is looking around after she sings, she looks angelic. What she sees here and her reaction has made me wonder as well. It looks like a shyness reaction to something she sees, or perhaps embarrassment as you suggest. In any event, it is adorable.


Does anybody know anything about the origin of this photo? It looks like she is a contestant in a celebrity baking show.

I'm not sure if it was chopped or if it was a case of how women have a way of tucking a lot of hair into a tight little package. Alizee with long hair is definitely more becoming. I don't think she chopped it, but it is amazing how compact she can make her hair. I don't think she has the bulk like she used to have ten years earlier.

Thanks Kulli for the link to the cooking show thread. Unfortunately, most of the links in the thread are dead links now. I was hoping to find the episodes to watch. I checked my Netflix account because they carry UK based cooking shows, but being this one is in French, I struck out.

Also, thanks Scruffy for episode 1. I already most of the way through it.

The show is set up very similarly to The Great British Baking Show, except the location is different. But in each show, a tent is set up where they do the cooking on a beautiful estate in the countryside.

I always wondered about Alizee's culinary skills. I do a lot of cooking myself and watch cooking competitions fairly often. My family history has a number of chefs and restaurant owners, so I guess I am carrying the torch now. So, I have a lot of interest in watching these.

No worries. I have a 4TB hard drive dedicated to anything Alizee ;)

It's pretty entertaining, considering I cannot understand what they are saying. Alizee, at least in the beginning, is definitely in the novice ranks, but more of an intermediate novice. She is not tasting her food as she is cooking, and it looks like she used the wrong ingredient for one dish, and gets reprimanded for that. She must have come a long way by the end of the series.

She lived quite a life since she was 15, so I'm sure she has eaten quite a bit in restaurants and lots of snack food. I wonder if she enjoyed doing the show, and if it reflects a new interest in her life.

Yep - she was a doll. And she got really big, or maybe it is a bit of an optical illusion because of her height.

Something that dawned on me the other day, and these pictures just add to the realization, is that there are tons of pictures of Alizee alone or with professional peers, but a small amount with the father of her child in comparison. Maybe pictures of Alizee has been filtered, but if somebody who didn't know who Alizee was did a Google image search of her, they would think she was a single mom. It's pretty sad.

There was never a lot of pictures of them together, but after a certain point you are hard pressed to see a casual photo of them together. There are a ton of pictures of Alizee alone or with friends though. The baby came, and honeymoon was over. That is my theory. It's stressful being a parent period, let alone being one at 22. All the things that you might overlook when courting, like religious differences, become a big deal with a baby. You also have to accept that you won't get 100% attention anymore from the other. Some people have a hard time with this.

The 5th Anniversary video is interesting.

That is the second time that I had seen him say something similar. Red flag.

You can do an autotranslate of what is being said and it gives you a very rough idea of what is being said. I never minded Alizee's lizard tattoo that much because it was small and placed low on the leg. I would *think* this one on Annily is temporary because (I am not any kind of expert on this) as the body grows the tattoo would get distorted, I would guess?

I then asked her how many people recognized that it was that, and she said I was the second person to know what it was. :dance: She then pointed to her daughter, who had a tattoo of the Little Dipper on her forearm.

I think if a mother and daughter chooses to do that to express some bond, I thought the Big Dipper/Little Dipper was pretty clever.

You see it all the time in reality shows, where trademarks or logos are blurred. It's not illegal to show them, but there is a lawsuit risk to the producers of the show should the company not like the situation in which their product appears.

It also might have been deemed to risky to show in heavily gun-controlled France by the producers.

I started a thread on her YouTube comments earlier this year and it's an ongoing thread that we contribute to every so often. In fact, it is time for another batch to be put in there. Thanks for the reminder!

I've read through comments of videos by other pop stars that are considered "hot", such as Taylor Swift, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears. Without it even being close, Alizee gets 100x the amount of comments that focuses on her. Words are used such as angel and stunning, or maybe saying that they are in heaven or that she is the most beautiful person they ever seen (from both male and female). Many fall in love with her right on the spot and don't realize what hit them. Plus, these are the comments that I can understand, because at least half of the comments are in all sorts of languages I cannot understand: Russian, Polish, Chinese, Arabic, etc. I do pretty good translating Spanish though.

I try to avoid reading too many JEAM comments because they can get quite coarse. Of course, the dance is so sexually charged that it attracts viewers who might not watch La Isla Bonita otherwise.

I have made it such a habit to read her video comments, I think by now I have a decent idea of what most of her fan base is like. They seem to genuinely fall in love with the woman, and not just guys. Most of the comments left by people who see her for the first time are respectful, but many are stunned, like they just saw Paradise. The Alizee Effect is a real thing.

I have a few reasons why I think this photo was shopped.

Alizee is right handed, but in the photo, the person is holding the gun with her left hand. The hand itself has a lot of lines in it and does not look like a hand of a teenage girl, but somewhat older. Finally, there is that dark hump that protrudes out of her left side, under the top of the shoulder. It doesn't look normal to me.

But, either way, it's a great photo and I downloaded it for my collection!

But I was a kid in the 60's, and there wasn't a whole lot of accommodations for lefties when it came to things like baseball gloves and other things that kids like to do. So I was forced to do things right-handed until it became my preference. But I kick with my left foot. I am also left eye dominant. Because of this, I think if I learned to shoot with my left hand I would be much more accurate and hit the bullseye once in a while ;)

When I was a teenager, I thought it was much cooler to be left handed than right handed, as I am. So I spent most of my junior year in high school trying to write left handed. I guess that it's more comfortable. I do many things right handed, but there are things that I do with my left hand that I don't do with my right. And vice-versa.

Were you born left-handed and "corrected" by your parents perhaps? I was. But I was a kid in the 60's, and there wasn't a whole lot of accommodations for lefties when it came to things like baseball gloves and other things that kids like to do. So I was forced to do things right-handed until it became my preference. But I kick with my left foot. I am also left eye dominant. Because of this, I think if I learned to shoot with my left hand I would be much more accurate and hit the bullseye once in a while ;)Please forgive me for not replying sooner as this is not how I am. I try to be timely in replying to others' questions. Yes I was left handed in writing and drawing, but I had a nutty teacher that would yell and embarass me when I did things that she didn't like. She once caught me picking my nose, but when she did it no one made her go wash her hands!! I learned to be right handed over the years, but I'm still ambidexterous.

Those poor kitties. That's a stupid video! I never scare my cats as they don't deserve it. The cats I have were abandoned by their mother so I took them in. The boy kitty was almost two weeks old and crying in the neighbors' yard when I found him and the girl kitty I found living in the shed with the mother kitty that took off with one of the kitties and never returned. They had kittens together before we could get the money together to get them both fixed. Two kitties died in child birth and the last one to die was tiny as she wasn't growing. She had brain damage and we didn't know until we took her to the veteranarian and he thought she wouldn't live much longer. This is when she was a month old. She had an impaction in her intestines. We had them give her medicine while it worked to remove the stool she still died from starvation. The part of her brain that told her to eat cat food and meat products was damaged when she was born. The kitten formula that we gave her wasn't enough nutrition. She was slowly getting thinner. The only thing that we could do was watch her and make her drink water in the end, but she died any way.

I made a box for her with quilted maple and stained it pink. It was almost the colour of her kitty cottage that she slept in. I put her in a piece of fleece and buried her inside red bricks. I cannot bury her in the ground. I will buy the things necessary to build a mosoleum for her someday soon. She was the only thing in this goddamned world that ever meant anything to me and now she's dead. I have her tattooed on my left arm now with the date she was born and the date she died. She never had an official name as she always cried so we named her "Weepy Baby" as she would cry all hours of the night until she got big enough to sleep with the other kitties. One time when I was mixing her formula I felt something biting my sock. I looked down and there she was! It was her biting my sock to get me to mix her formula faster!!! In the morning I would mix it up first thing when she would come out of her cottage and stretch out one leg. Then walk to the kitchen for her meal. She would stretch out one leg and enter her cottage when it was time to sleep. I miss her and I cry every time I think of her....:(

I can understand how people can get extremely attached to their pets because I have with many, so I am sorry about the loss of your cat that meant that much to you. You did the best you could to save her life, so you should have some satisfaction of knowing that.

I owned a ranch for many years with multiple barns, and while I am more of a dog person, cats are a necessity for rodent control. I am very aware of all their antics and how entertaining they can be. Sometimes they jump when they see their own shadow. Somebody said the Internet was created primarily for the sake of being able to post cat videos and pictures. :)

Sorry for having to watch the kitten die. As a cat person I understand the sense of loss you went through.

Cats are born predators, and their amazing reflexes are just one aspect of this. I currently have 3 cats (and 3 dogs), and many more in the past. I am going to try the cucumber test on them when I get a chance. I actually think of these moments as entertaining to them. It puts an additional experience in their life and they are not harmed by it. :)

Brief question. How do you post pictures so that the picture appears and not just the link? I posted some pictures awhile back using the "attachment" feature, but only the link displayed.

If you click on the 'Go advanced' button at the bottom of the 'Quick Reply' window, it brings you to the 'Reply to Thread' window.

To add a picture, click on the paper clip at top center of the window. Another window opens up, 'Manage Attachments'. From here you can either click on choose file, then browse to the picture on your computer or you can just drag the file to where it says 'No file chosen'. When you do that, if you did it right, you'll see the name of the file in that window, then you click upload to the right.

Once it successfully uploads you can click on the 'Close this window' button at the top. Go back to post. Put the cursor where you want the picture to appear, then click on the paper clip again. You can upload 5 images at a time this way. Once you click on that paperclip, you can either choose insert all or you can insert the images one at a time by clicking on the image number.

There's a way to add more images. After you upload 5 and post them. Start another post and add some more. When you post them, the next group will be merged with the first group, unless someone happens to have just posted after your first post.

The size limitation is 97.7 KB.

You nailed the moment. I saw something that made me think it was during the performance and not a publicity shot. In the original picture, to the left of Alizée's right shoulder, you can see what looks to be a part of a guitar, which seems to indicate it happened during the performance and shot by one of the other cameras being used to record the performance.

As far as who came up with the dance, that would probably be a good question for the interview. Who choreographed the JEAM, JPVA, ML dances?

Three things about her appearance:

1. She's very pretty, but beyond that there is something "evocative" about her face, something subliminal. People talk about Alizee having a "girl next door" appearance-- I know what people mean by that, but I'm still trying to figure out what that technically means. To me, its like she's "average-looking" and "beyond beautiful" at the same time--- and that doesn't make sense.

2. Her appearance seems to change from one photo to the next. Maybe its just me, but I've seen some photos where she almost looks like a different person. Maybe I should post examples. (Also, she looked like a different person as a child.)

3. Her appearance is ethnically ambiguous--- this was particularly true when she was younger. Someone on YouTube commented as follows: "And even though she is of French descent, she can easily be mistaken for someone who is Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, English, Greek & North African/Middle Eastern."

I'll ask around on FB.

The picture highlighted in red is from a radio interview very early in the promo for Psychédélices where she first talked about the comeback and either the first single or the album in general. She still had long hair at the time.

The original picture was only 180x180. I loaded it into Photoshop and made it bigger and added some more contrast, but still it is very pixelated (is that a word?). I think you are right about it being a revolver. By the narrowness and length of the barrel looks like it might be a .22LR revolver. Actually, my .22 is a favorite at the range because of its accuracy, and they are cheap to shoot and are lots of fun.

Next I want to find a picture of her shooting a M16A4 with her Colt hat on ;)

Kk, now, the “Pistol”, I had it “tagged” as an older .22 “Competition Target Revolver”, possibly “long barreled”, but the “pic” was that low resolution, it would be hard to tell.

Now, I’m looking at that “pic”, and to be honest, she is “hamming it up” for the camera, and having fun, which is utterly cool. ;)

Looking at her “grip”, it’s not bad, for this thing she’s shooting has “minimal” recoil, and as for her “stance” and “posture”, she is just “playin” for the camera. :D

Ok, give me just “one hour” for some “instruction”, and I can literally almost guarantee something approaching around 80% “lethal hit probability”, high “centre mass”, at the “ranges” that really count for “defence” in her case, and that is at 3 yards, 5 yards, 7 yards, maybe out to 10 yards. ;)

We’d cover: “general safety”; “range safety”; “clearing drills”; “grip”; “stance”; “posture”; “general targeting”; “point shooting”; “target shooting”; and; ““point shooting” vs “target shooting””, that would probably do for a “start”. :)

We’d start off with.”22”, then go up to “9mm”, and then “.40”, which is my “caliber of choice” for “Pistols”, for “.40 hollow points” have got around the same "damage potential" as .45 at comparable range, with way less recoil, and far lighter relative weapon weight.

Trust me, I’m feeling my age now, for after about 35 to 40 .45 rounds my wrists are totally “killing me”. :o


To be honest, I think she would “catch on” almost “instantaneously”, and her “accuracy” would be “exemplary”. :)

Here - this is for everyone: I called Ruger to get some work done on my 9mm. When I called I talked to a man that was very knowledgeable.

He told me to "Get a 2 X 4 - use that for your target. Aim at the top of it. I have a special backdrop that I use with it so that I don't have to worry about where the bullets are going to end up. The better your aim the more you'll hit it every time. So when the shit hits the fan you'll be ready and not have to worry about aiming - you'll do it automatically!"

Those were his words exactly. It helps to paint the top of it red, or something bright so that it's easy to see. This way you can be a sure shot no matter how far away you are from your target.

Alizee had worn a few blond wigs in Les Enfoires, one when she was made up as Marilyn Monroe. Maybe she liked what she saw. Then I found my rarest Alizee photos I could find that he didn't have in that forum, and he said they weren't good enough. Alizee is both introvert and extrovert. Its in her brain chemistry, and its a major part of her x-factor.

It really came out in her performances, such as JEAM, JPVA and En Concert. She combined the sweetness of an introvert, with the boldness of an extrovert. A "sweet boldness"--- the perfect girl. (If that makes sense.)

Well, my intention was to stay "bunkered up", and "heads down", and not "post", for the rest of the month, but I couldn't resist this one. ;)

The “tattoo” “thing” overall, I just don’t “get” either, :confused: however, with regards to the “fairer” sex, it’s usually an “adornment”, ‘cos they think it’s “cute”, some kind of “rite of passage”, or, it’s unconsciously, (or otherwise), “marking” specific “events”/”times” in their lives, many of them unfortunately “traumatic”, that they wish to “commemorate”. :( :blink:

There is more than likely a “story” to most of all of Alizée’s tattoos, and, it has most likely been “documented” “somewhere”, out on the “web”, but, to be honest, to me they make utterly no difference to the way I regard her, for they are all “part and parcel” of her, a young woman that, overall, I pretty much adore. :o ;)

Now, they may make me “wince”, sometimes, when I look at them, but, it is not because I find them at all “distasteful”, it is because the “healer” within me “empathizes” with the “pain” and “trauma” behind many of the events that are “behind” the “creation” of them, if that makes any sense. :o

I truly wish she hadn’t gone through any of that, really. :agree:


Anyhow, there are “ways”, and “means”, available to couples to “mitigate” and “heal” many of the “traumas” and “pain” behind these tattoos, and some of them are “quite fun”. ;)

Now, it has to be a “spouse” or “partner” or something “similar”, for, I can totally assure you, if it is not, and they are a total “stranger”, you are going to get “shot”, “beaten up”, “arrested”, or similarly “spindled”, “folded, or, just generally “mutilated”, if you try any of this on them. :D

The easiest, simplest method is just to talk about it/them, which helps to “release” much of the “pent up” “pain” and “hassle” behind them. :)

Then there’s the “Deluxe” version that I’m waaay more fond of, now, any “relevant” bodies please take note, for this one really really works, and is great “healer” in so “many” ways. :D ;)

So, Alizée and Greg are “very much in love”, and, are “totally devoted” to each other, which is my “book” is just “pure dead brilliant” and “totally appropriate”, but, lets do a little “bit” of “creative visualization”. :agree: :)

"Scented candles"; appropriate "incenses"; a "nice" little bottle of a drinkable sweet wine “slightly chilled”, maybe a bottle of something “dry”, too; some good “dark” “European” chocolate, some “chilled” "Cantaloupe" and “small fruits”, and, anything else deemed suitably “therapeutic” would be "procured" and "assembled". :)

(And, a sackful of “very fluffy”, “very hungry little Kittens”, with “sharp little claws”, and, a "pint" of "Thick Cream" put on “standy”, “just in case”.) :o ;)

"Lighting", would be “low”, or just “candle light”, "temperature" about 70f, and some suitable “mood music”, which by experience usually meant just about anything by “Savage Garden”, for some reason, would be “applied”. :)

Then its “Exercise begin”… ;)

Each and every “tattoo” would be “spoken about”, “discussed”, “uncovered”, and then “kissed better”, every single square millimeter of “each” and “every” one, one by one…

I remember back in the day when the only people who had them were: Sailors, Truckers, Military men, and PRISONERS! I've met a lot of people in my time and one thing is always the same - almost everyone that I know who has a tatoo regrets getting it. I have ONE that I got when my beloved Weepy Baby died - one day shy of being four months old. She was the only thing that I ever truly loved! I took pictures of her because she was so cute and tiny. We didn't know that she had brain damage and wouldn't live a full life until the vet told us this when she got an impaction in her intestines. We had to leave her there for several hours. He said that she probably wouldn't live - that's when she was a month old. Ironically we were driving to a friends house for his oldest daughters' high school graduation party and were discussing this. Three days later she died. That destroyed me - I almost died afterwards. I didn't eat - drink, or sleep! I thought - I better live for the other kitties, and I decided then and there that I would get a tattoo of her on my left bicep and so I sent a picture to a local artist and he traced her basic shape onto a stencil and freehanded the rest and it looks exactly like her!!! I swore I'd never get another one again and I haven't. Even though I've had a Godson, a cousin, and an uncle die - all within a few years of each other I won't get one to memorialize anyone else, or for any other reason. I'm done with tattoos!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

The pendulum will eventually swing back, and maybe it has already started. Tattoos are already full body, and even saw some get their eyeballs tattooed. There is very little else for it to go. A future generation of teens will consider having no tattoos as "rebellious" and "cool".

Alizée and her “hairstyles”, well, you know me, I usually have a different, slightly “Buddhist” “take” on things… :) ;)

She generally changes “hairstyle” as quickly as the wind changes “speed” and “direction”, now, a lot of these “changes”, to me, are probably “costume” or “professional look” oriented, and the others, well, from my experiences with the “fairer sex”, are about “soul searching”, trying to find “her” look, as in “who” she is. :agree: :)

I think maybe she is still “searching”, and that “search”, can take a “lifetime”, but, methinks, she IS going to find it very soon. :) ;)

Anyhow, to me, her “hairstyles” are not really about “my” preference, for that would be suspiciously like a display of “ego” or “self”, but are all about her, and “happiness” or “fulfillment”. :o :)

So, if I had to pick a “favorite hairstyle” from all of them that Alizée has “sported” in her time, it would be the one that she kept for the “longest”, and looked the most “happiest” and “settled” in… :agree: :D

These days, anybody with a phone can be paparazzi. It looks like somebody was on the beach with her and snapped a photo.

If you see a woman on the beach with a huge Tinkerbell on her back, you can be 99.99% sure it is Alizee. If she is beautiful, then it goes to 100%. :)

I dislike tattoos in general, and especially now since everybody seems to have them. There is nothing "cool" about them. I've ranted about Alizee's tattoos more than once. It doesn't change anything and she still has them, so I just learned to accept it for what it is.

What would Alizee gain by "fixing" her nose? Increase her self-esteem? As Rev mentioned, Alizee said her nose is her favorite feature. Would her motivation be to become more attractive? She has already brought half the male population of the world to their knees, and let's not forget the many women who think she is gorgeous.

There are just way too many celebrity plastic surgery nightmares, and noses must be particularly difficult because they are the most often botched. MJ could afford the best of the best surgeons, and they ruined his face. I've wondered why Alizee hadn't fixed the chips in her front teeth. It would be definitely affordable and virtually no risk. She might think of her chips as a trademark feature of her, or maybe she is just not that hung up on fixing every little flaw.

On the other hand, think of the beautiful women celebrities with large or unusual noses, such as Uma Thurman, Penelope Cruz, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts, and last but not least, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who has a nose pretty similar to Alizee's.

Ok, I'm gonna weigh in on the nose question. Alizée's nose is perfectly fine! Thank goodness she hasn't had it bobbed off till it looks out of proportion to her face. I have seen so many women who have had nose jobs that take the character completely out of their faces. Actresses do that all the time--and one good example of a disaster was Jennifer Grey. She completely changed her appearance and, though still attractive, immediately lost her star power because she was not recognizable as herself any longer. She has said she regrets the surgery.

She looks completely different! She obviously is aging, but her nose looks shiny and new compared to her eyes and around her mouth. She's nice looking but would look so much better with her original nose.

I think when you start removing and reshaping the cartilage in your nose, it impacts the shape of the mouth and cheeks in the end.

Looks wise, I think I liked Jennifer better after her procedure, but her looks afterwards were more commonplace, less unique. I could see how for Hollywood, she'd have more appeal prior to her procedure.

The whole deal of appearance is really tough on women, especially if they are in the entertainment business. Alizee even commented on her belief that for a woman to make it as a singer it is important for her to be attractive, and I agree with Alizée on that.

In "Dirty Dancing," I found Jennifer's nose very appealing. Why, I don't know why. I don't normally go about finding people's noses appealing. When Jennifer first got the nose job, I didn't recognize her even though the change is very subtle. The operation did take something away from her individuality, and I was disappointed that she got it.

I consider outright insults to Alizée, the namesake of the forum and whom we all love and respect, as worse than what AL had done at any point. There was nothing constructive about her criticism, just hateful and aggressive comments about her appearance and having those words said about Alizée in plain sight where she can read them is basically breaking the cardinal rule not to post anything that would offend her.

If you look at it as the forum being a sports bar dedicated to a specific team, having one conceited person start trouble with several members is a "take it outside" sort of offense. If someone is rudely and consistently berating the team we all support, then I would have to ask "what are you even doing here?" There's plenty of room to lament the shortcomings of "our team," but obnoxiously pushing the idea that "our players" should have fixed their appearances by now is ludicrous. Especially in the reality of the situation where Alizée's facial expressions and characteristics, (including her nose, which has a dedicated thread on this forum) are universally loved.

Furthermore, she has been disciplined in the past by Mod Ruroshen, and flamed other members as soon as she joined:

I had discussed this topic with Bamagirl and CleverCowboy and had planned on discussing it with Fall, in private, but it came out in public and so I too will say what I think in the open. The reason I discussed it with them, is I've chatted with CC on a regular basis via e-mail and pms, ever since he's joined the forum . I've also known Bamagirl, long before she joined this forum and we too, communicate on a regular basis. I don't have Fall's e-mail address and I'm asking him to share that with us, if it's not already under his profile so we can all can communicate about things concerning the forum. I also encourage the 3 admins to use the admin forum which is only visible to mods to discuss things in the privacy of those 3 mods.

With LCC's first post back in 2009, she should have received a ban of 30 days I'd say.

But if she wasn't, that was a mistake on this forum's part. I thought some of her other posts were combative, but there was also some sniping going on, back and forth.

This is a forum for discussion and at times there will be some heated debate. Subjects such as her tats, her tongue piercing, the failure of her albums are ones that have sparked debate in this forum in the past and at times, tempers will flare. Back when LCC made that sledgehammer comment, like I said, she should have received a ban. The fact that our mods didn't lock that thread and/or delete those comments was another failure of our mods. I don't think I was one at the time.

So LCC's comments of late have again been insultive, if we had banned her in the past and maybe I'm wrong but I don’t think we did, then the next step would be a permanent ban. If there was no previous ban, the first ban should be a thirty day ban at most for what she's said of late, in my opinion.

You can give all the warnings you want, but the one thing that will make a member really take notice, if they really want to be a part of this forum is a ban. Give that first one week or one month ban and if they come back, they will be on a short leash for getting a lifetime ban. The fact that this ban was for 731 days, might as well be a life time ban in my opinion. Who's going to stick around that long?

As we've reissued the guidelines for forum behavior, I think we need to have a policy on how cases like this are handled. I feel no one mod should by themselves, be allowed to give a lifetime ban. I think if a mod strongly feels someone should have a ban longer than 30 days, they should discuss it with the other mods and get at least one other mod’s thumbs up to do so and that includes Merci Alizee in addition to our regular three.

I also encourage our 3 mods to use that private thread in the forum that is there for that purpose.

If the other mods agree on this, LCC should have her ban reduced to 30 days, then after 30 days, if LCC shows the same attitude, then I think a lifetime ban is justified.

If she's been banned in the past, though I think a lifetime ban is justified, I'd still giver her only a 30 day ban now, but she would be on a very short leash.

There should be provisions to allow a mod to act unilaterally if the other two mods cannot be contacted for a certain amount of days. This should be limited to a 7 day ban until the other mods have their say as to whether it should remain as-is, be increased, or made permanent. But the rules should be clear as to what actions to take under certain circumstances.

The banning of LCC was abrupt and without warning and should have been handled differently, but after reviewing her 2009 posts I started to agree with the outcome. What does a member see when they try to log in when they are banned? If they have a 30 day ban, does the message just say they are banned and that's it, or does it include how long the ban is for and how many days are left before it is lifted? I know you might not know, but somebody else might.

The point being that if the rare event of a ban does occur, in the post where it is announced, the length of time should be included.

It would be good if they did get a message telling them of the ban and the length. Maybe even with space for a comment giving them a short explanation.
