Uh oh... Ribery being carted off the field at 9'.

Ali: I think Domenech is done after this tournament no matter what Les Bleus do.

I hope so, he's not one of my favorites.

As I said in my previous post France will lose, I watched football enough to accurately predict who will win these games based on their control of the midfield. As I said before, France's midfield is a joke. You need an effective mid-fileder like Viera, Ribery was the last hope for France and now he is out (how unlucky for France, yet again). There is no way you could survive in this group with two of your biggest stars out. Plus, they are playing with a man down there is no way in hell France can win, that is a gurantee.

The new guys like Nasri and Benzema up front they are 18/19 years old, lol, no way they could match 10-15 years of experinced players that are playing for Italy. Thats the only good thing about France's future, these young guys will get some taste of Football at the highest level. France is in a transitionary phase after Zidane, while Italy has pretty much the same squad from '06. I bet Alizee and all of France will be sad tonight.

P.S. Yeah, Domenech is done, he is a FOOL as indicated by his many decisions, the fact that he didn't drop Viera or even drop another player and add Flamini (who is a pretty good midfilder) shows he screwed up big time. In todays game he started Abidal instead of Thuram which was a joke too me, how can you not start someone like Thuram who has all those experience winning WC and Euro. He needs to go now and France needs to start fresh.

I agree too, Portugal has an excellent and creative midfield. I was going for Portugual in Euro '04 after France got knocked out. Sad that they didn't beat Greece in the final after getting a second crack at Greece. They play with a bit of Brazilian flare or Joga Bonito. I wouldn't mind if Portugal wins, they are one of those teams that tries so hard and gets so close but could never go over the edge and win. Plus, they haven't won a World Cup or Euro, so they deserve to win at least once for all their valiant efforts. I think they are the best team to beat Holland and I think they will beat Germany.

Their coach is making some poor decisions, they are, indeed, lacking a good midfield, a strong midfield that they had during the ever-glorious years of the great Zinedine Zidane.

Oh well, they aren't doing so hot, but bloody god the Netherlands are on fire!
Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wesley Sneijder, and Edwin van der Sar on the same team makes for one dreadnaught of a team. From the very beginning of the UEFA Euro 2008, I had a certain feeling towards The Netherlands and Portugal, the Netherlands has not failed me, obviously, utterly destroying the 2006 World Cup finalists, as for Portugal, I need to tune in their games more.

you would better have started when you were 15.... In those years, we were World champions !

It's far away, now...

But I don't think Alizée care a lot about our football team defeat...
